Extended wheel bolts with locks for use with spacers?
I've searched and searched and am turning up nothing on this - other than people asking and there being no positive answers that these exist.
If I add, say, a 10mm wheel spacer and then need to run extended wheel bolts, are there any extended wheel bolts that have a security feature built in like the stock wheel locks? If so I haven't found them.
I think the only thing I found in a search was someone saying that you can get locking lug nut sets, which would require you to swap your wheel bolts for wheel studs and nuts. And of course a lot of replies from folks saying not to worry about the locks because they can be defeated or that's what insurance is for, but I'd rather do whatever I can to keep my wheels mine.
Although I would not recommend the second style as you don't get a lot of 'bite' on the interface and it's easy to round off the lugs and they become a PITA to get off (I had a set on my VW Touraeg..... no more)
@Hindsight2010 : you may want to check out acerracing.com for titanium lug bolts. A bit pricey of course but they have a complete set of 16+4 with locks for 10mm spacers.
stock bolts are 28mm or can use 30mm. then add whatever length your spacers are. Buy new longer bolts NO LONGER THAN THE AMOUNT NEEDED FOR THE SPACER
All are on ebay. There are lock bolts for the longer sizes also.
Skip the locking lug bolt all together. The only person they'll keep from removing your wheels at some point in the future is YOU.
Theives will spin them right out with a battery powered impact gun and Gator Grip style pin socket. Keep your insurance paid up and if someone steals them, it gives you an opportunity to upgrade to a lighter wheel or try a different style or color
I just finished purchasing new spacers from Future Classic, and wow do I recommend them. Great packages that include the spacers, new extended proper lugs, screws to hold the spacers to the hub, and even some anti-seize and a brush to apply.
Thanks for the replies everyone. Didn't know there were so many options - very helpful.

I hear you Petaza, though I blew close to $6k on a set of BBS E88s in gold with polished aluminum barrels (plus a set of brand new PS4s) so there won't be much upgrading from there. Unsure if insurance is going to cover expensive aftermarket wheels. I've heard that thieves can defeat the locking wheel bolts but that not all thieves are that prepared.... just trying to reduce my chances at coming back and finding them missing.
so dont bother to lock the doors, because some thieves will break the windows. And leave your house unlocked also. Just makes sense.
PO’d my brother, thieves kicked in his front door, destroyed it and the framing. The door was unlocked and they were too stupid to try the easy way first.
I just got a set of bonoss wheel bolts(20pcs+4pcs), 4pcs locking wheel bolts with a lock key for extra free, that's pretty good. installing locking bolts can really protect your wheel rims from being stolen, at least for ordinary bolts, I think it's safer. locking design after install the wheel bolts with shells on

I have never heard of a single story where someone had their wheels stolen. Would be curious to hear any stories where that happened. Most folks don't leave these parked in areas where this might occur. Share your true stories.
Wheel locks I’ve always found are simply more of an inconvenience to the actual owners. Always the first thing I removed. But Mine is always parked in a garage overnight.
