Default Exhaust Valve controller kit

I just bought a 911 2s and it had an exhaust controller kit installed, I can see the controller and the Blue Silicone Vacuum Line, but the remote control is missing. Any suggestions on how to get a replacement? Valves are open now, car is loud for my neighborhood at night. I believe this is the system since it looks just like it. https://soulpp.com/product/exhaust-v...ontroller-kit/ ~ I will try to give them a call tomorrow, guessing all the remotes use the same frequency.

The remotes are paired with the receiver so you will need to get both for it to work. The soul exhaust is meant to start with the valves closed, so if the valves are open all the time it sounds like the controller and solenoid are bypassed and the vacuum is always on opening the valves. Take a look under the car, the soul mufflers have a distinct brushed nickel finish and the logo stamped on it. If you do have that valved exhaust you'd have to hook the solenoid and controller back in and perhaps the previous owner programmed the remote to work with the garage door opener buttons as they are on the same frequency band.

So the Soul Performance one works the opposite way as the stock PSE? Stock PSE pulls the valves closed with vacuum on startup into normal mode. Pressing the button releases the vacuum and the springs in valves then move them to the open or sport position.

Thank you for the response. I just ordered a new kit. According to the previous owner if you open them they will remain open until you close them. I already tried the garage door opener and it didn't work.

Spoke with the manufacturer and told me that the valves are normally open, meaning open all the time unless you close them with the remote

Which valved exhaust do you have? The soul valved exhaust defaults to close upon start https://soulpp.com/product/porsche-9...alved-exhaust/

Is the Soul performance one, I will try to replace the unit today to verify, but the gentleman told me that they are always open unless you close them as I mentioned.

I've had two of their electronic controllers on the kit and both start in the valved closed position so the exhaust flows through the muffler. Their site also says they start in the quiet mode too. Perhaps they updated their controller kit in the last year and never updated their website. if you have any issues installing let me know. happy to help.

Wink

I just installed the new module and I can confirm that the valves were open all the time, they start in the open position and you need to close them for the quiet sound. The only issue with the installation was that the new unit comes with the fuse holder on the positive lead with the male side to the module while the old module had the female side to the module. I made a female to female jumper and now I have double fuse protection . Thanks for the help.

no problem. I think yours works that way if you’re pulling power from a non-keyed vcc. Ie the module is always powered. Mine is on keyed and when the car is off and the caps discharge it defaults to valves closed.

enjoy the exhaust either way. It sounds great
