Default Brake Pad and Rotor Recommendations 2006 911S

Going to be doing a brake job on my '06 2S and was wondering what folks are using for street application only. Since I live in the mountains I do plenty of spirited runs up and down so that probably needs to be taken into consideration as well. I plan to replace the rotors as well as the pads and would like to get some pads that don't dust too much. It seems there are a lot of options available and I'd like to hear about what's working for others.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Are you from Idyllwild?

If you were satisfied with stock one, the oem jurid front and textar rear should do the same for less. They come with the dampner and are silent.

Right on!! I'm down in San Diego and actually going to be passing by your neck of woods, Indio-Winchester-Hemet-Beaumont-10 this Friday and going to Chuckwalla.

You should go through Anza and then down to the desert on 74. Much nicer drive. 79 our of SD, through Julian, to 371 (Anza), to 74 (at Paradise Corner), to 10.

I replaced my rotors with Bosch from Orylies. They had to order them but only a couple of days. I like them.

The Ferodo DS2500 would be an excellent choice for your situation. They have far better feel than stock pads, but the big deal in your case would be their maximum operating temperature. They are perfect for canyon carving, and some people even use them for light duty track use. We also offer 2-piece AP Racing discs for your car as well, if you decide you want something a bit more durable and lightweight vs. stock. Our discs are probably overkill if you don't plan to do any track driving however.

You can see the pads (and other brake products we offer) for your specific car here: https://www.essexparts.com/my-vehicl...2S/Iron%20disc

More on the Ferodo compounds here: https://www.essexparts.com/brake-pads/ferodo-brake-pads

We are a long-time Rennlist sponsor, and appreciate your support. Thanks!

dba rotors (2 piece in the front and 1 piece in the rear) and Hawk Ceramic pads. Run this combo on my wife's 05 997 C2S. Then at the next brake job you can buy replacement front rotor rings and reuse the lightweight aluminum hats instead of having to buy new rotors. Part numbers for the rear are complete rotors. Part numbers for the fronts are just the rotor rings. Brake pad #s are for front and rear Ceramics.

I've done that before and it goes through a nice mountain pass down to Rancho Mirage. Unfortunately, I'm taking my truck with the moto in the back so switchbacks won't be as fun.
