Default 997.2 CEL p2415 O2 sensor sample error bank 2 sensor 1

Hey Guys,

I got a check engine light the other day on my 09 c2. the code was p2415 02 sample error bank 2 sensor one meaning it is the pre cat sensor. Doesn't seem like there are any exhaust leaks around the manifold and the sensors are reading .41 and .45 volts.

Any thoughts as to what this may be?

Any help is appreciated

The sensor reading .45 v is maxed out so the problem is on that side. That code is usually caused by an exhaust leak. You can brush some soapy water around all the exhaust joints (header, to head, header to cat, etc) and see where the bubbles come out. Poor quality exhaust gaskets can also cause this or if you've had any recent exhaust work done and they reused the old gaskets. You could also try swapping the 2 pre-cat O2 sensors. If the code now moves to the other bank, then hte sensor itself is probably bad. If you'll be swapping them, unclip them from the connection box in the engine bay before unscrewing them from the cat so you don't twist and damage the wires.

Wouldn't the exhaust leak have to be before the o2 sensor for it to pop that code?

I did notice a small leak in my center muffler but very small. Figured that couldn’t have effected that. Since it’s far from the sensor

Yes, I would think so, and why I mentioned a header leak or header to cat leak.

on the .2 cars the cats are in the manifold as opposed to on the x pipe therefore I think there would have to be a leak at the manifold gasket which it doesnt seem like. I ordered a new 02 sensor. hoping that will fix it.

When my check engine light first came on before I reset it these codes came up as well. The only code that has seem to come back with a couple short road test is p2415

Just went to check on something else and noticed a new code p0030 (final stage for heater of oxygen sensor ahead of car bank 1) came up
