997.1 owners, how much oil do you burn?
Have seen many questions around this, but thought it would be helpful to have a running poll to see the numbers!

I burn 0.5qt every 1300ish miles. Previously using 0w40 Mobil1 but swapped out to DT40 5w40 on my fill today just to see how things wear. Blackstone every change shows consistent wear with no indication of bore score or IMS failure. Filter is always clean and no flakes in the oil either. Little to no settlement on the magnetic drain plug.
Some notes about my car is its my daily driver and it sees a lot of stop and go traffic. I also drive it hard in the canyon a couple times a month and plan to take it to track days once things get back to normal in CA. I just rolled over 152k miles this week. Have owned the car since about 137k miles and the burn rate is dead consistent so I think I have a pretty go baseline if it starts to consume more. I have a small sum set aside for the day it need to go to FSI for a refresh which is bittersweet but how it goes.
edit: forgot to mention that it's a c4s but I don't think it matter too much since burn rates are all over for m96/97

06 C2S 81k miles
Mobil 1 0W-40
Side note 6 AutoX days with wife sharing car with me in 2019. No oil needed to be added. Oil changes at 4k-5k or 1 yr. Car is a weekend toy.
Blackstone oil report came back just fine. Will be changing to 5W-40 on next change.

Just completed an oil change this weekend, my interval is 5k miles. Car was filled with 8.5qt and I drained just a tick under 8.4qt after 90 minutes. Magnetic plug is clean, filters are unremarkable, everything is smooth and strong. She's my daily driver with no track or AX use, occasional blasts through the twisties, and no drama or fuss thus far.

Not sure how a 6k mile change interval became the standard in the poll since no one here runs their oil that long based on the UOA results that have been discussed over and over. 4k-5k miles should be the max change interval unless you see something in the UOA that makes you decide to lower it. There is a significant breakdown in the anti-wear additive package that occurs after 5,000 miles, reducing the viscosity and adding to the acidity.
Neither of my 2005 997.1 C2S cars burn more than 1 quart of oil during the 5,000 mile change interval I use. On my supercharged car, I'm actually doing a 3k mile interval based on what I've seen at 4k miles in my UOA reports, but the regular 997 C2S that's my wife's still gets 5k mile changes and it has 107k miles on it now.

My .1 currently has 22K miles and on the 2nd fill of Motul Xcess 5W-40 in the 2 years now of ownership. I'm not going to exceed 6K miles for this oil change since my previous UOA that was documented here was around 5K. During that time, I had to add oil about .5 quart.

Life before my ownership {@51000} was Mobil 1 0w40 every 3000 miles. Since my ownership last 1.5 years its DT40 5w40 every 3000. {now @56000} Never had to add any, on my second change. I am running LN's oil filter adapter and NAPA gold filters. I feel better about that.
Since the car is relatively gently driven I probably should go to 5000 intervals.

I have a recently rebuilt 2006 4S with a 4.0 and the car gets poor gas mileage and drinks oil. Just kidding the real problem is that I drive the car all the time and do not keep track of the fuel or oil consumption. Within the last few months I put 5K miles on the car and needed two quarts of oil since then.
.
I hope I am past the break in period.
