Wheel aficionados - opinions?

I look for a long time for new wheels. After looking all the different wheels on the market, i always came back to the 19" BBS LM wheels. I felt they were the classic look for a Porsche 997. Good luck in your choice.

You know what they say about opinions yet I’m asking anyway... what do you think about these 20”s? Chrome is starting to flake, has some scratches here and there. They ride OK although corners feel a lil dicey on the larger rim. All in all don’t love em, they are just ok for me. I’m thinking I’ll go back to stock or maybe 991 Carrera S wheels.
I think you've basically answered your own question. You're not wild about the wheels. They're not in great condition so doesn't make sense to spend what would probably not be cheap to recondition them. If your budget allows, look for a set of forged 19's from one of these or any other high quality wheel makers. Lots of options here so the links below is just the beginning based on what I've owned and the reputation of those brands:

I've seen maybe 2 sets of 20s that I like on a 997. 19s look and perform so much better. A 19" version of the same wheel is always lighter than a 20" version of that wheel so reduced unsprung weight.
Since you seem to like the shiny look, I have a set of real forged 19" Champion RS171s in NB fitment for sale. I had the silver pilaint stripped and then had them fully polished, then clear powdercoated so they'll never need polishing again. Come with center caps but no TPMS sensors.
Also clear PCCB brakes without needing spacers.
Had them available for a while since I'm not giving them away.

the champion 171 are always my favorite. David, I would have those wheels stripped and clear coated or put a silver color on them, I was going to take a guess that they were champion, I dont know. But I like them

OKB, if you're talking about my 171s, they were polished, then clear low-temperature powdercoated. Much more durable than regular clear coat paint.
