Default 1/4 window removal gen2

Hey all,

Anyone know how to remove the rear 1/4 glass from a gen 2 please?

I have the interior 1/4 trim panel off already

Thanks

Are you replacing the window gaskets? Or is it for another kind of install? I don't know how to do it but i heard all the glass has to come out to replace the seals and with most of the cars now hitting ten years it could be a popular repair shortly.

I want to take the glass out so I can take off the black trim to get the rear 1/4 panel painted as it has some dings on the lip that can’t be removed without paint.

I may be wrong, but I believe the window seal (doors and rear quarters) is a single item that is riveted in place.

I am interested in this as I need to do the rear window regulator and all I can find online are 996 examples.

Yes that is correct. The window needs to come out and then you have to drill the rivets out that hold the trim in.

Also, you HAVE to make sure you get the rivet tails out from inside the 1/4 panel or they work their way down between the inner and outer skin and get wedged. They then push out on the outer skin over time causing outward protruding dimples

Think I have sorted this.

Will write up how you do it tomorrow.

I have the B trim off - does anyone know how to remove the C trim? Can't seem to find a clear guide how to do it and what the clips are like
