great write up.

the foxwell530 is the best. i cant see why any 997 owner would be without one - its the best bang for the buck coder out there - pretty much allows u to do everything that we need (without a laptop). i also have had extensive experience with a durametric pro - and still say the fox well is by far better for the money.

@Freakhead How much do you plan to drive in the rain? I recently did a DIY of an RPG ducktail (poor man's Getty ducktail :P).
Several folks on several threads said that water ingress is fine - but I still worry because of the amazing climate we have in the Pacific NW - 9 months of rain!
I park my car sometimes in the driveway - that I can avoid. And if we ever get back to working from offices, then I'll have to hunt for covered spaces there too.
But driving in the rain - I can't avoid - mine is a DD. Hope I don't fry the fan and send water down to the engine via the intakes Maybe I'll try that waterproof fabric thingy to cover the intake.

Ducktail just looks RIGHT on a 997. Nice work.

Anyone have experience with the Moshammer duck? Fit and finish look outstanding.
Listed at $1355+ tax and shipping: includes the wiring harness and screens.
Looks like you keep your existing engine cover, which removes the fitment issues I have read about on other duck forums.

@shyamvenky To be honest, I am a little worried about this myself. I do park in the garage when at home. I do lots of driving with the 997 though and rain does not stop me. The engine bay is meant to allow for some water but if there is a deluge, it would really concern me. I read somewhere that someone carried cut-out magnet sheet that they fit on it when parked outside and expecting heavy rain & I may look at this but wonder how often one would forget it and drive away!

Good choice, I am obviously biased.

shyamvenky and Freakhead.

Pete coached me to buy a hydro shield after I bought my Getty. I think this is what it is called. I have not had any issues with water and I definitely drive in the rain. Life is good.

Great profile on the Moshamme! Reviews on their products are very good. I’m considering their rear diffuser.

For you duck owners, you might think about deleting the factory rear 3rd brake light and get the panel from the 997 turbo. Since the Getty has a 3rd brake light no need for the non functioning factory one to remain. It really cleans up the look.

That does look much better. Did you perform the swap? Wondering if it's a DIY thing.

Thanks

I was considering the Moshammer front lip but the logo on their kit put me off. Not sure why they need to have their logo all over the kit!

Is the harness that getty sells for like $270, the same one you can get from Porsche for like 120?
