Pressure plate failureand driving it home like that means friction discs and flywheel are toast now too - probably very overheated and blue.
Though you would have replaced the friction discs with the pressure plate anyway. Some people replace the flywheel at the same time - you'll likely need to do that too.

Also important to remember miles have no bearing on when clutch needs replacing. With normal mellow driving clutch can go 100K+ miles
Slap-happy hard driving or hard Tracking can kill a clutch in 30K miles or less.
Whatever the case and with the smell factor most likely going up the flywheel, I'd say bite the bullet and replace clutch and Rear Main Seal.
**And keeping on subject, I read about owners paying $4-$5000 for clutch jobs. That's absurd.
Parts about $2000 including Dual Mass Flywheel and labor shouldn't be more than $1000-$1200.
**I highly recommend RennPart.com for Porsche parts - I have purchased 3 clutch kits and flywheels from them over past 9 years. Excellent prices and RL Sponsor.

Groovzilla - With 6k miles since clutch work in 2019 and my light touch, does this seem an odd circumstance to be in? Should I go back to dealer who performed the work under previous ownership?

Thanks Petza - what do you believe is cause and effect here... the pedal hardware causing the pedal to stick initially, or internal clutch components causing the pedal to stick and my pumping forced the bits to fall out? I ask because the clutch and slave cylinder were replaced in 2019, about 6,000 miles ago. I consider myself easy on clutches.
