Sitting for 8 months? Did you have fuel stabilizer in it? If not, that gas is likely the cause. I've had gas in my 997 go bad in as little as 3 months without stabilizer to the point it created runnabikity issues. As soon as the gas was used up and a fresh tank filled, the problems went away. Happened to me twice two different winters about 3 years apart. I now just put stabilizer in every tank since I never know how long it will take me to use up a full tank.

No, did not. And it is a mistake. I just filled new gas after 25 km. Should have put Technon or similar in it when it has parked. Will do that from now on and all times i full up in late summer.

No offense Henrik - but one gets the impression from your posts that you are not completely cognizant on, (and perhaps somewhat confused) on the maintenance status of your car.

No problem. Lets put it this way. I know it is on original spec as far as things are beyond service. It has been problem free. It has been serviced on Porsche centers all the way. I dont think hey have changed coils. It not the usual. So, behaveiour could be any one of the things above and in fact keeping the fuel system in shape by putting techron etc in the tank has not been done in the 997 when i parked it. Its the first winter i have not driven it. So im a bit all over. I know it misfire on cylinder one according to the scanner i had in the car. This car is srill an experiment in the way its so careful driven, according to the dme and still in original brake discs etc. And, i think You can read out confusion in the thread as the question starts to come in. And i am confused what it can be.

And all sorted out. Yes, bad coils. Changed all and plugs. All good. Did service as well so now ready for the winter drive. Lucky it was a small thing, i had a hunch it was but had to wait for the mech. to confirm.

Certainly that's the issue. Should be at the end of life of your 2nd set about now. Post pictures of those plug ends and the coils for us.

Well. Sold it last summer to a fellow porsche friend. He called me in november and wanted
to sell it. So i bought it back. Know its a good car. Know the history well but last service i was not sure when it was done. Also sitting 3500 km from it and try to remember the services is hard.

It was the coils. I just let them change plugs while they had stuff away. An upgraded regular service
