I know everyone has seen the changes to the website. One thing I have noticed is the different names each person receives. I think it is depending on the amount of posts you post on the site. They are:

User
Super User
Addict
Poseur

The last one noted is another name for a poser, someone who pretends to be something their not. LOL. Then I clicked on their name and they had like 15,000 posts on the site. Interesting choice of user names. LOL.

user and addict are the official monikers - a user is someone who does nt pay membership and an addict is someone who pays for membership. Addicts get access to a couple of additional forums (very entertaining) and have extra bandwwidth for pictures and more options for signature and some other stuff. The other names, lie super user and poseur are nicknames handed out by the mods or IB or chosen by the member. I think an "addict" can do that. Others will chime in with more background.

Hmmmm ... Not seeing any of this on the Android interface.

Guess I'll need to adjust my lazy ways and open up the web format each time I open a thread to see what I've been missing!!!

Is there any way to update your actual username? I used to have a boxster, and hence the boxtaboy handle. Want to update it. Lol.

Scroll down to the forum panels and select Rennlist Member Help - post this question there. The mods and IB will let you know what you can do.

Well Doclouie, I’m just lucky there’s no “you’re voted off the island feature”!

Android app sucks. No info on screen. Doesn't show all photos. Blanks some responses and completely skips others. Cuts off responses. Repeats responses giving different users credit as the one who posted that response.

And it's behavior is inconsistent. If I open a thread enough times I can get enough variations to start following things.

I could go on. And I have. But good news ... recently I found a way to switch to the web version and that works better ... One post at a time.

I suppose some of those additional forums can be "very entertaining". Others I wish I had stayed away from even with full access. The one that comes to mind first and foremost is "Politics And Controversy". I waded into that cesspool some years ago. I bet more than half my post count goes back to that period. You hear arguments there that are so outrageous and obnoxious that it's almost impossible not to respond with hard and real facts easily found with a simple Google search. So very easy to get caught up in endless exchanges there that often lead to nowhere.

So not a forum I would recommend unless you have a lot of time on your hands and just enjoy arguing with people. I quit that place cold turkey one day after finally realizing how time consuming it was. A waste of time at that.

Wayne, you're an "Addict". Best way to use it on Android is to set your preferences to open in Chrome and use the mobile view instead of the full web view.

Not sure why people would come to a car forum to discuss something other than cars though.

Because they might think that if they have high taste in cars, that perhaps they might share similar high tastes in things like watches or cigars, or wine, etc? Or might have similar views in life that they want to discuss?

Yea, I guess that makes sense. I'll leave the OT Forum to you guys, as I personally don't have much interest in fancy watches, wine, or discussing politics. I'll stick to the cars.
