Default Va engineering super charger

Has anyone installed the VF super charger on a 997.1? https://vfengineering.com/products/p...1-supercharger

You won't find a lot of love for that sort of mod on Rennlist.

Why not? I would love to do this but would be afraid that it may exacerbate any potential motor issues (BS, D chunk, IMS etc) at some point? Or, can you rebuild the motor to be more robust and then do this, which would not be economical, but if $$ no object?

touche'. I guess i should have said if you had like $40k to throw around, not $300k. I know it doesn't really make sense but just daydreaming out loud and like the sleeper aspect of a lowly C2 with 500 HP. Although, I appreciate the Turbos, too flashy or something for me. The Singers and Sons are more my taste.

I’m guessing you would have to remap the ECU.

Because charging a 11:1 engine just isn't the "best" path to higher performance.

If you go into it understanding that engine life will be reduced and willing to pay rebuild cost, go for it. But after the supercharger, proper engine rebuild and other accessories needed, you're looking at 30k. With that, you could get a turbo, have stock reliability and functionality.

So it sounds like if one is willing to rebuild the motor first to make it more 'robust', then add the SC, it would be feasible in terms of reliability (using that term loosely) and longevity, $30-40k and 911 turbo not withstanding.
