Default Does anyone know if a front or rear Lobster wheel...

Does anyone know if a front or rear factory Lobster fork wheel for a 997 will mount on a front and rear if not driving on it. I ask this because I currently have lobster wheels on my car and no spare wheels in my garage, but if, for example, I ever get a nail in either the front or rear wheel, I’d prefer to just leave my car at home by removing the wheel that has the nail, throw on the spare lobster wheel, take the damaged wheel/tire to a shop to have it repaired and then put that repaired wheel/tire back on my car back at home. That way, no one at the tire shop drives my manual 997 and/or damages my painted calipers when taking off/on the wheel.

I know I can simply just put the car on a jackstand instead, but I’m wary of this when I have a kid running around the house and garage sometimes, so want another option. It would be great if one spare (either the front or rear spare alone could be temporarily mounted on either the front or rear axle) while I got the damaged tire fixed. Anyone know if this would work, or would I have to buy one front and one rear lobster spare with tires? Thanks in advance.

Pic below of my 997...

I believe the Front will go on back (mine does). Back will not go on front.

Thanks!...if that’s the case, I’m buying a used front. Appreciate the response!

why not try and buy a used 996 doughnut spare and carry it in your frunk?
They show up on ebay.

Do they fit both front and rear axles? If so, maybe that’s a nice option, although I do like the thought of having a full size front spare in case one of my front wheels ever gets damaged.

I have a spare from eBay in the car. If you get a flat back tire, you put the 996 spare on the front and move the good front wheel to the back. I have fully tested it.

Another solution would be to get a set of hub stands like these from 928 Motorsports. Very stable and also an option to give you access to things the wheel would block. Also a good option to lift the car with a single jack - jack up one corner install the hug stand then move to the next one, etc.

Thanks...interesting. I ended up just getting a 996 doughnut spare wheel for $150. Will serve its purpose.
