I've been following this 997.1S since it's been on sale here: https://www.udriveautomobiles.co/veh...6a6b09403e067c
It seems they've increased the price after the Corona episode. I looked over the Carfax and it seems the second owner in 11/2011 at 13k miles (Car currently at 24k) had an extensive service including having the transmission removed(?). Other things mentioned during that time, Axle bearing replacement, water pump replacement, crankshaft oil seal (front/rear). Seems somewhat concerning? I love the car and I think it's a worthwhile buy at what they had it listed a few months back (59-60k). Any thoughts? Skip it?
Thanks!

I haven't looked at the market in quite some time bit that seems pretty high for a .1
You're better off with a slightly higher mileage .2

I think it has a real good resume. The turbos are priced a bit higher than non turbos so expect to pay more. This car is very appealing. If you like it, and I do....you may regret not buying it. I like it a lot. You can't worry about spending a couple thousand more. If you like it than buy it.

Looks like a very nice car. Although an expensive one.

Price seems on the high side but really sharp looking car, great options and low miles so for someone who appreciates all this, why not. I would personally go for a 997.2 for the same money or less. It probably wouldn't be optioned as tastefully but would come with many other improvements over the 997.1 worth a lot more than an aerokit, red belts, PSE and some alcantera trim.
A matter of taste of preferences which is always difficult to hang a price tag on.

Maybe if it had X51 just for rarity sake, but no way would I pay that for a 2007. Overton’s 2011 GTS annual with an aero kit is not much more than this car.
I was going to say don’t post a link if it a car your seriously consider, but it will gone quickly if it is a decent deal. That car won’t be gone quickly withbyou posting up . . .

Wide body aero kit manual with alcantara, debited wheels and red lights is a great spec.
Lovely in GR too. It is however a lot of money for a non turbo, non PTS car .1 car.
Maybe with ceramics and x51 it would be a buy.
They recently sold the one off RS green .1 with F77 kit for the same money - a better buy in my opinion.

These are $40k cars with normal level of options and 50k miles. I would add a few k for lower miles, a few k for the nice options, so we are at $50k. Then deduct several k for odd issues at low miles suggesting something wrong, so this looks like a $45k car to me.
Its really sharp though.
P.S. why is dealer in PA but using a .co web domain? Its the Columbia domain code

That car is nice, but there’s nothing about it that makes it “one of a kind”, and it’s not highly optioned as claimed by the seller.

That engine stuff would scare me off even if priced appropriately. The coolant level is also low. Maybe it wasn't filled properly, or maybe it burns coolant to go along with those other engine issues. I also don't like Alcantara except on the headliner, not a big fan of lobster fork wheels, but it does have the best 987 seats, being full power, sport adaptive. Does have PSE exhaust which I also like, but had sport chrono, which I don't. You can't put the xhsust into sport mode without also putting the engine tuning into sport mode which makes the throttle way too sensitive. You can disconnect the vaccum switch for the PSE, but then you don't really have PSE, just gundo mufflers, which sounds great, but costs you some low end torque and being able to quiet the car on demand (early morning departure from the neighborhood, driving next to a cop, etc).
Also, the most tickets I ever got were when I owned a red car - vowed 30 years ago to never own another.

Thats more like it lol, I'd say a 45-50k starting price would be more in range, and thats being modest.
Take away the aerokit and you have an alcantara interior 4S with some options and sport exhaust. Question is, could you buy your own 4S and do the same/similar modifications for the asking price? Maybe..
40-42k seems like the reasonable sweet spot for that car in todays market, imo.
BTW, I bought my higher mileage 997.1 2S for 31k, and am gradually working on similar options/mods, all in all it should be around that 40k price when all said and done, but with my own choice of parts while learning my car and working on it.
