Default P&P Throttle body and Plate

Has anyone on here port and polished their throttle body and throttle plate before? I did it on my B8 S4 (forced induction but after throttle plate) and felt a difference in throttle response and a slight power gain, has anyone done in on a N/A 997?

Grams per second. What the maf measures- if it increases the port and polish has an effect. More density more power.

This is unmodified. The burner gets here Friday. I’ll probably polish the whole inside of the ipd plenum as well.... why not!

Wouldn't upgrading to the GT3 throttle body be better?

I am mainly looking for throttle response not power, if more power comes great- I was surprised what it did with my B8 S4-

I wouldn't polish the inside of the plenum as intakes are designed not to have perfectly smooth walls.

As for the TB, there will no change in feel or performance.

Per Mr Q: The dimples in the IPD plenum...... as I understand it, it actually creates turbulent flow.... hmmmm....

They are to make micro turbulent flow that actually helps the air flow over the surface better. But a very smooth dimple could only help this effect. Golf ***** aren’t rough!

IPD just casts these things and send them out.

I removed the plate, polished it and then opened up the main opening 2.4mm and removed the step up ridges. Then 120,180,300, 400. The loctite is drying.i think it tuned out pretty good.
