Default Rennlist Newcomer. C4S 2010... would u buy?

Hey folks, a newcomer here. I have had a 997.2, 991 and 991.2, gone back to dealer (NOT FAST ENOUGH) Seeking 997.2 C4S Coupe.. strongly considering car below. Had a mild bumper accident in 2013, but is a Porsche CPO car. For 53k and CPO (2 years full warranty) - would you buy this car and why or why not ... what are my chances of finding a 55k low miles 997.2 C4S in the future ??

https://www.porschedanbury.com/inventory/certified-used-2010-porsche-911-carrera-4s-awd-2d-coupe-wp0ab2a99as720278

? Saw an amazing C4S in San Diego two weeks ago. Gone now. , but 64k, even though collectible (16k, Platinum silver/ full leather etc), I couldn't justify 65k for 2009 now. Where best to shop for 997.2’s I looked ausual -carmax, CARFAX, autotrader etc. Porsche, Not much there. Is that the current COVID market or ???

I personally wouldn't because it's a PDK and it's Black.
But if you are looking for a PDK and like Black then it looks like a low mileage well kept 997.2.
No brainer.
These are become more and more rare.
Just don't settle because the exact one you want may come up for sale a month later...

Keep an eye on Rennlist Classifieds and PCA Classifieds as well.
Nice to buy an enthusiast owned car that you can get all the history on first hand.

Good luck and nice choice on the 997.2 C4S!!

I'd buy it. Looks clean, priced reasonably, CPO, low miles for a 10 year old car and I wouldn't care about the bumper accident as long as it was repaired right and there was no serious damage behind the skin. It's my understanding that bumper accidents are the only body panels that Porsche will accept damage tot and still CPO a car.

And I wouldn't pay much attention to the PDK bashing you'll probably receive in response here. I see you already got one as I'm writing this. As good as this forum is in so many ways, it seems to be completely inverted to the marketplace in terms of which transmission is preferred. Every statistic I've seen has PDK cars selling at 80% to 20% over manuals since introduced. Reading this forum you'd be hard pressed not to think those numbers would be reversed.

By the way, I had a car just like the one you're looking at, only a year older, different color and a few other differences. Loved it.

Good price for CPO, low miles minus the pdk. Paying slightly higher for a pdk but cpo I rhink
makes up for it. Granted if that matters to you.

If it has all your options grab it, try to negotiate

If settling continue looking. Especially if you were set in a manual.

Great answer thanks man. I live in Los Angeles. Shifting would drive me insane. PDK is an amazing instrument.

Value is ok, looks clean and not a bad buy. However, the OPTIONS and if you love them or need something specific (leather dash, sport seats, color, etc...) this doesn't have is entirely up to you. So, if you like Black and Black, C4S, PDK, with most basic options... then this maybe the car for you!

It looks to be in great condition. Clearly you are a PDK guy (no judgement here!) and really nice to have the peace of mind with the CPO. As others have indicated, unless you are looking for specific items on your build, if this checks your boxes, go for it. If you spend your entire life waiting for "perfect" to show up, you spend your entire life waiting. If you like it, buy it and drive it like you stole it!

Nice car and CPO. Car is priced well and has a slight markdown due to damage on Carfax. If purchasing used, I would always recommend CPO when possible. PPIs don't always pick up problems or issues needing to be addressed, all services will be up-to-date and wear items in good shape.

Lower priced cars typically have needs and even minor seeming needs can get expensive quickly making those lower priced cars more expensive.

I just bought a 2011 C2S 6MT CPO and happily paid the premium for the PCNA warranty. It was the spec I wanted and a CPO -- for once the stars aligned.

If this is your spec vehicle, and CPO, buy it...the CPO premium will provide peace of mind which, to my thinking, is invaluable.

Good luck.

Bob

Excellent choice. I have a 2010 C4S with over 170k miles. No CPO lol. Bullet proof car. Good price but you can probably do better in a month. I've been around long enough to see Porsche prices plummet during recessions. Even the mighty 930 turbo during the late 80s and early 90s lost significant value back then. I had one.
