Default wheel size, spacers and lug bolt question

So I've got a 997.2 Cab (base Carrera) that is running the stock 18" wheels.
Size:
8x18 ET57
10.5x18 ET 60

I picked up a set of the awesome optional Carrera Sport wheels for it.
Size:
8.5x19 ET55
11.5x19 ET67

Question. Do I need to change to longer lug bolts?

Second question. Should I run spacers?

Thanks, Mike

I believe your existing lug bolts will be fine with those wheels. you will want to measure the bore length where the bolts go one each wheel just to be sure. If you add spacers greater than 5mm, you will need longer lug bolts.

My Carrera came with the Sport wheels and standard lug bolts, but if you add spacers you need longer ones.

if you get spacer you add the same dimension to the lug, 10mm spacer, add 10mm to lug, all lugs are 28mm , so buy 38 or 40, whatever is commonly sold. I have 7mm spacer so bought 38mm lug because are common size and 1 or 2 mm doesnt make any difference.
some people buy 7, 15mm spacers and buy 38, 45mm lugs

Just as a suggestion, if you do wind up going with new lugs, get studs and nuts. They are much easier for taking wheels off and putting them back on.

Thanks guys!!! Awesome info. I'll mount them with the stock lug bolts. If I move to spacers I'll get the correct lug bolts or convert to studs and nuts. Got to have something to do while I'm working from home...

All 997 base cars I've seen have been sitting really tall with what looks like at least a 2" gap between tire and fender. So this is just my opinion but if I had your car and bought the 19" wheels you have now I would lower the car with Eibach springs, H&R springs or coilovers depending on your budget and intended use. With either of those solutions you'll need spacers or the overall stance will look even worse. And with spacers, lowered or not you'll need longer bolts. Every set of spacers I bought came with the longer bolts required.
