ebay is your best bet for a used one.

I see that suncoast sells the new steering control module I will need (997.613.289.01), and since the unit is new, it will require programming via foxcon (which I don’t own) no matter for MF to work.

So question:

Where is the best source to purchase a used unit? Is this why guys are purchasing the entire turn signal stalk Used ? What do I search on eBay?

FWIW I have MF in a 2008 and want to retain MF in the new wheel

thanks!

I just received a used control module ($275) from dc-auto in North Carolina. Believe it came out of a 2009 Cayman. They are a P-car dismantler and have a website. Plan to install it this weekend. I installed new 991 wheel last month in my 997.1 and horn and paddles not working. Based on this thread, hope this will fix it.

A little off topic but related. I have a 997.1 turbo and I've been getting intermittent PSM failures that rapidly self-correct, and occasional PASM failures that also resolve spontaneously. The dealer tried to correct this by replacing the clockspring, but the failures persisted. They said I would probably need "a new module" without specifying which. The service writer said Porsche had made a couple of upgrades on this module since the car was new in 2007, so I believe he is referring to part number 997.613.297.03 (the .02 version was implemented in 2008, and I probably have the original .01 version). Since the .03 version is the latest update, why are some of you using the older .01 version? Also, does anyone think the .03 version would be a problem in my car?

I'm not changing anything or trying to get more functionality, I just want the intermittent PSM/PASM failures to go away.

Any thoughts appreciated.

I may have one laying around that I can give you for the cost of shipping. The version numbers don’t mean anything

Big shout out to acr89 (Mo) for offering his spare control module. It fixed my problem, and saved me $$$. Great bunch of people we have here on RL.

I too did the same upgrade for my 997.1 and everything works great but now I have an airbag light that won't go away. Does anyone have any ideas on what could have caused it or how to get rid of it?

I have a Foxwell 510 version that i programmed my MF with.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Yes!
I had replaced my center console with a carbon fiber one and forgot to reconnect the plug that goes under the center console for the airbag sensor
