I had an oil change at my dealer once (BMW not Porsche) and I pick up car and drive to a restaurant. I come out after eating and see a trail of oil from behind the car and a large pool underneath. Called dealer and they flat bed car back. Turns out tech forgot crush washer and all the oil came out. Luckily it drained out at end of trip mostly while car was off so no warning lights or damage.

Good to see you're still around. Miss the Good Week thread.

This indy only services Porsche and Mercedes. He is doing these all day every day so I doubt he over-tightens anything. He keeps spare drain plugs on his bench (showed them to me) because, according to him, they are made of aluminum and only good for one to 2 changes. Aluminum is prone to fatigue so I believe him. Its such a cheap part, why not replace it? Playing devils advocate, even if he DOES over-torque them (which I am not suggesting), at least he covers his mistake like a pro...
