As the Aurum Gold wheels are all the rage at the moment, I was wondering if anyone had painted their lobster claws gold.
I think the GT3 wheels look spectacular in Aurum gold but wanted to see if it worked on the lobster claws.

Would love to see this too. Could look very cool. Anyone with Photoshop skills?
I think they look best gunmetal (personal opinion). I had them and sold them cause they werent my favorite wheel, but Ive seen some good Gunmetal ones that tempted me to keep them. This shade of gold looks best on multispoke wheels, IMHO, but maybe do a plastidip sample and see how it works with no permanent commitment? Since I have seen that color wheel on Guards red on the 992, i've wondered about painting my wheels, but it may be too much for my liking.
Wow! Interesting question, last week I asked my independent shop for a quote on painting my lobster claws gold in the spring. Still not 100% sure, I would be beholding to you rtomassiniif you could do your photoshop magic and put gold rims on my midnight blue targa to see how they would look.
dude, they are lobster forks. FML.
don't make me come out to Alberta!!
THIS IS SERIOUS BUSINESSS!!!!!!!!
I worked at a restaurant for years that used forks that look exactly like the wheels. I have also murdered many lobsters and none had claws that looked like the wheels.
CAGE MATCH!!
Also, only paint OEM wheels in colors that were OEM options or they will look like ****.
That is my strong stance.
Think it actually looks great with the blue. Will probably go ahead with it unless whims change by the spring.
(Actual lobster forks have narrow bottom and are pointy...nothing like these spokes on the rims, clearly the reason Porsche calls these claws & not forks )
Just gone through this thought process. Tossing up between Aurum, Weiss Gold, Guards Red and Mexico Blue for my spare set of OEM wheels I use for track days. Went Mexico as the golds looked bad against an Arctic Silver car.
