I figured I would post this here because our standards are a bit higher than others. After getting rid of a daily driven 08 e63 we had for 6 years and buying the Porsche it's now time for good reliable transportation. South Florida is a nightmare for used cars. It seems everything has a story or is either beat up real bad. If anyone knows any good reliable clean, excellent condition used car. 1 or 2 owner kinda thing please chime in or send a message. I need a rennlisters well cared for grocery getter lol. Honda, acura, hyundai, toyota, ford, chevy.. i'm open to any sedan really that isn't smaller than a civic or corolla. And has cheap operating costs. I'd like to be at 8K all in. Thanks again guys it's much appreciated as always. I'm in Boca Raton and would like to find something within and hour or two from me.
I understand your concerns about finding a reliable used car in the Boca Raton area for under $8K. I think your budget is too low and at that price all you will find are problem cars. Double that amount and find a 2014-15 Honda Accord. Tons of them are around the area.
It doesn't even have to be an accord. Elantra, jetta, malibu... anything. Higher mileage is fine too, this things going to be almost sacrificial over the next few years to keep the Porsche in good shape. If someone opens a car door into it no big deal cause it's cheap. I just want something clean, we have the porsche and the truck for separate purposes, now it's time for something cheap to run errands in really.
You can find 2011+ used high mileage Civics for 6-8K with 90-100k miles on it I got one for $5,900 with 99k miles on it - my kids use it. Put about $500 into it re back brakes, belt/oil/brake flush change and a look over by my Indy. So far so good about 4k miles later. You can even put in an Apple car play if you want for about $300.
Thank god I didn't have to double the budget, I'm not the federal gov't lol as luck would have it I found an 08 accord today!!! 08 accord 49K miles in just about showroom condition. It was a 1 owner, older woman's car (even smells like it). Not even a single door ding in it. Every single service record since new plus all the delivery inspection paperwork from the original dealer in broward. Car shopping sucks especially down here but at least we found something.
I love this little thing its purpose is to take a beating so the 911 doesn't have to. It's like mad max and the thunder dome down here.

About 6 months ago we were considering buying a condo in North palm Beach and I found a nice 2008 Range Rover LR3 just like to one I own in Seattle.
Very low miles, very well taken care of for $5500 which is about 50% of market value here.

I bet the guy was selling it for 5,500 because his trade in was only like 3500. These car dealers are sleaze bags down here, we have an auto group down here called autonation and went to look a fairly clean 09 acura tsx. it was listed at 6,999. No haggle price out the door for like 10,200. It's a scam I wonder if it's even legal to be honest. 899 dealer fee is the same on a 7k used car as it is on a brand new maybach in the showroom?? Tried telling the salesman the cash is in front of you, i want to you to be able to mark it off the board get a commission and move on. They'd rather sit on it, he thinks its a pts aero .2 ha ha. Thank god this is over, the C4S has 39k and the accord has 49K no more car buying for a while.
