Default DEI Exhaust Wrap

Has anyone utilized the Exhaust Wrap ? I am entertaining the idea of putting these on, to reduce the heat - :-)

FWIW
I've used it on my track bike, you have to be very careful as it may dissipate heat but if it gets wet it holds on to moisture and you could damage the metal.
it also discolors once removed

I struggle to understand the benefits of such a wrap. For short drives I get that it would reduce external temps of exhaust components and thus reduce heat radiation to the nearby engine and body. But after a long run wouldn't the exterior of the wrap reach the same external temperature as the unwrapped exhaust and radiate just as much? I understand that if the wrap had a lower emissivity it would radiate less but wouldn't that be the only effect for a long run? Clearly I should have payed more attention in Thermodynamics class!

I used it just around the headers till right before the collector. I tried to prevent the body work from melting. I wrapped it and then put foil on the body panels and it still blistered. But hell its track body work.
