Default Aqua Blue cars with a manual transmission... how rare?

Hi All,

I'm a former 993 owner for 10+ years and looking to get back into a 997.2 in the next couple of months.

Ideally looking for an S cab in Aqua blue with Manual transmission and any interior but Sand Beige.

Would go with a 2, 2S, 4, 4S, coupe or cab if the car was clean.

How rare are these? I've been watching the various sites for months and seen zero. Lots of PDK cars available at any given time.

Just trying to understand what's realistic. I'm nervous to compromise on color and have a car pop up immediately thereafter.

Any feedback is appreciated!

Honestly, I don't think Aqua Blue is a good resell color at all. I saw several Aqua Blues (S and C4s) not took long ago that were just sitting and were priced super, duper low for 997.2s. Manual is definitely the wild card here though.

Here is a bad **** 2012 (991.1) variety that is Aqua Blue with manual transmission. This is a gorgeous car!

Damage (not accident) listed on Carfax. I would try and get this one for $65,000 and jump on it in a second.

I just dumped a 2017 991.2 Turbo to go back to yet another 997.2 (2012?GTS) for my daily driver so I am definitely a 897.2 guy.

That said this 991 is gorgeous and I would probably go with a 991.1 S over a 997.2 base or C2S, narrow body, as the 991.1 S is such a great car. This 991.1 has SPASM, LS and SE. To me, a 991.1 S and 997.2 GTS is a toss up, but better than base or S 997.2.

I personally would not purchase a NA, non-GY 997.1 because of the M96/97 engine . . . so IMO a 991.1 S is better than a NA 997.1 or a NA, non-GTX, 997.2z

The only negative about this car is damage hisitoy in Carfax. Damage history could have been backing into a garage door and just needing the bumper cover respirated. Damage definitely reduces sales price, buy does not disqualify a car IMO.

High miles for a 15 (49k), but man o man is that one had **** 2015 GTS for $82K. That is a whole lot of car for the money! These things will go up in value over the long term being the last and the best NA engines in a 911.

Thanks for all the feedback guys!

I've thought about the 991.1 but there are just so many features that changed from the 997.2 to 991.1, 7 speed, electronic handbrake, bigger car, electronic steering, physical key, etc. They really are gorgeous cars, especially in sapphire or aqua blue.

Coming from the 993, the 997.2 is a nice leap forward.

My daily driver is a Tesla P90D, so regardless which motor it is will be slower, but I'm looking for the fun factor of rowing the gears.

Do yourself and test drive one and check it out in person.. I like the bigger inside as I have kids, but it’s really isn’t bigger on outside and weight is similar. That said, I love my 2012 GTS, but the 991.S is a very comparable car and worthy of consideration.

Tht 2015 GTS on the other hand will give the Tesla a run for the money, especially between 50 mph and 130mph, and the GTS is an absolute beast handling wise. That car is a huge step above the 997 for only $82k and sounds great! Lol, I am kind of wishing I had picked up a 991.1 GTS instead of my 2012 just talking about it.

I think they are fairly rare and the aqua blue manual cars move quickly in my area. I think would be no issue with resale. Plus its one of the best looking colors IMO.

Drive them both, 991 and 997. I was planning to buy a 991 but ended up picking up a 997.2 because I liked the 6 speed gear box better and the smaller cabin. Also felt more connected to the road, a little more interior noise etc.

I ended up getting an Aqua Blue 997.2 C2 manual. It's a blast to drive, looks great and turns heads.

Pull up Agua 2009 through 2013s on Cars.com and look at the prices and how long many have been for sale. These are some of the lowest priced 997s and 991s I have seen. White and Black sell for substantially more and sell much quicker. red does okay as well. I think midnight blue is a bit more liquid than Aqua Blue. Very limited market for Aqua, but I think Aqua works a little better on a GTS or GT3 as those purchasers tend to want louder, bolder colors.

For instance, this 2009 S has been for sale for ever and is priced in the $40s with less than 50k miles.

Another 2009 S with clean Carfax for only $44k.

https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/d...1297/overview/

2013 with only 33k miles for $54k with clean Carfax . . .That is super cheap!!!!

How long did you search? Coupe or Cab? Where'd you find the car? Interior color?

Those are all automatics.

Believe me, if I could get a deal like those on my exact car, I would be thrilled.

Low resale would work to my benefit in this scenario lol
