The performance of the C8 Z06 engine looks really attractive on paper. 600hp 5.5L V8 rev to 8000 rpm mid-engine

But yeah, also for me.. there is not a chance in the world! Not even if the C8 were half price.

My latest track car is a 1999 Ford Mustang SVT R Clone. 8k RPM, 500 RWHP, 3,200 pounds. Crate motor with 24 month warranty Ford Performance/Ford Racing 10k delivered to your door. And, these motors dont break so i dont have a budget for rebuild. More money for track time sounded good.

Beats rebuilding a Porsche motor by say 20-30K.

Still have my small but growing collection of P cars but my track weapon is exclusively Ford today.

I would get the RS6 Avant coming out before a Vette but after tracking with Z06s, I do have a lot more respect for them.

I saw a couple of them with mfr. plates in Malibu a couple of weekends ago. They look good, but maybe not quite as sexy as the previous gen? Hard to say. Either way it's awesome to see them in the USA. I saw a couple previous gen cars last time I was in the UK and it made me jealous as hell.

Coming from a Camaro...I could never go back to GM fit and finish. I adore the heck out of the C8, but Porsche forever
