What car would you buy if you had up to $125k to spend

Nordschleife Master
A 2012 copy of the 997 GTS I have now with the addition of ceramic brakes, full leather with yellow stitching and gauge cluster to go along with the PCCB calipers and no more than 500 miles on the clock. Long odds needless to say.

I will assume single car and not multiple and that the idea is to spend most of the $125k...
It depends on objective and left over $$ for maintenance but some decent options imho:
* 997.2 GT3
* Ferrari F430 / 550 / 599 (soon)
* Mclaren 12C spider
That price point is a bit of a dead zone for me personally... There are a good number of amazing cars that are $50-$70k that are 95%+ of the experience and driving fun and equally as rare as the ones listed above. Then there is the price point $150-$200k where I think there are some really compelling cars (997.1/997.2 GT3RS, Ferrari Scud, Ferrari CS, etc). Personal opinion only, of course, but for me I would prefer variety and having a few cars OR stepping up a bit more in price. At up to $125k you should definitely get something you lusted after though...

It’s funny that so many responses come from people that own a 911 and, if given $125,000 to buy another car, they would buy another type of 911. That is like telling someone who loves vanilla ice cream that they could have, for free, any other flavor ice cream in the world - and they choose vanilla ice cream with chocolate fudge swirl. (And I do not mean to suggest that 911s are plain Jane cars.) Brand fealty is wholly understandable, but there is a universe of interesting cars out there.

Oh, that reminds me, forgot that the new Lotus Evora GT would definitely be on the list.

For sure, but none with the combination of practicality, sportiness, comfort ,good looks, longevity and accessibility that 911 offer, at least up to now.

Ferrari F430? Hate the F1 transmission and gated manuals are worth more than $125k. 360 Modena or F355? Expensive to maintain.
A US-legal R34 GT-R is probably worth more than $125k, if such a thing even exists.
Aston V12 Vantage manual? Maybe, but I’d rather have a GT3.

without hesitation, I'd find and buy a 94 or 95 (preferably) 928 GTS 5 speed, in guards red if I could find one. $125K might not be enough. Only 25 of the 5 speeds made it to the US in 1995. Rare as hens' teeth, but super car performance in its day, and timeless still in its looks.

My current '19 991.2 C4S all over again, if I could find the identical car somewhere, which I doubt.
It is similar in cost more or less (more).

I have driven many pretty awesome cars and know that I can’t be satisfied by a single car, I need a race car, a DD, and weekend fun car.
If I had $125k to spend on a single car though it would be a 997 GT3 or I would consider a new GT4. A 991.2 GT3 is what I am really after, but minimum buy in is $150k.
If I could only have a single car for $125k that I had to use for everything, the only choice would be a GTR. I would wish I had a 911 in the summer, but come winter the GTR would make sense. A 911 turbo would be a bit cramped for a daily especially with a kid. Plus I think the GTR would win out in **** weather.

Also ignoring maintenance costs, a Murci LP640 can be had for the top end of the $125K budget. 997 GT3 is definitely high up my list too. Ferrari 430 too.
