Made a mistake, but now I'm back

About six months ago I made a huge mistake and accepted an offer on my 18k mile 911 C2S. I thought it was a good idea to sell since I didn't use it that often and it felt wrong putting miles on such a low mileage car. It was really a great build, sport seats, sport exhaust, factory aero and other little things that made it just about perfect, other than having a stone grey interior.
I left it mostly stock, other than wheels and suspension.

The buyer wanted it in factory condition, so I returned it to stock and hesitantly gave it to the transport driver and ended up walking almost a mile home wondering if I made the right decision or not.

I immediately picked up an Avus Blue E36 M3 to play around with and to try something different. I actually love the E36, it's a fun car and blue cars always end up being some of my favorites; however, I was still somewhat missing the 911 at times.
About six months after letting the black car go I was looking at autotrader to see if it happened to be for sale again. It wasn't, but I did see one that really sparked my interest from a private seller. Not only was it my favorite color, it also had a black interior with full leather, two options my other car didn't have that I really wanted at times. I decided to go look at it and the rest is history. One of the easiest car deals of my life, which I think is a great sign as I think buying a car should be easy, not a headache.
Anyway, on to the details. It's an 06 Lapis Blue C2S on black full leather with a manual transl. Has just under 60k miles, which is perfect as I can drive it as much as I want without having to worry. Overall, I'm quite happy with this one and hope it ends up being a long term keeper. Did I mention blue is my favorite color?![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

So in summary, if you're thinking of selling your 911 while prices are hot, don't.

Welcome back!! - Nice car!
I can understand your thought process on the 18K example you sold. It does become sort of a mind F_ck driving a nice example Porsche when you own one with either very low mileage or higher mileage creeping closer to 80-90K.
In my case it has been the higher mileage cars (purchased in 75K mi range) that I have gone after thinking I wouldn't care and just drive it. But that doesn't seem the case with me after buying it.
My last 997C4S was creeping close to 80K and prevented me from really enjoying it knowing once it got into the 80K range I'd lose some resale value so I sold it.
My current 07 997S has 55K miles and much more fun driving it and taking trips knowing I'm a long way from the 75K mark when I'll sell OR will still be a lower mileage example if I decide to part with it sooner than later.

Beautiful car and drive the snot out of it. I bought mine 2 years ago, with 60K on the clock, and I've just gone over 84K with no slow down in sight. I don'r care about the long term value, as it is an exceptional car and I really enjoy driving it.

Thanks all, really appreciate the kind words! I will try to keep this thread updated as I make changes to the car. I ordered clear side markers yesterday, which will be the first small change. Coilovers and wheels should be in the near future as well.

Hmmm, this logic I don’t really get. If I had a low mile example, I’d be happy to put miles on it knowing that I have a long way to go before it being of little value, and when it starts getting to around 70k+ miles, I start getting the itch to sell. Mine’s at 29k now, and I’m happy to put as many miles as possible on it when I can knowing that a 997 isn’t a collector car anyway. They made too much of them.
But, regardless congrats on the pick up. Blue is the best color!

Had the weekend to myself so I changed the car up a bit. Suspension, wheels and clear turn markers made a world of difference.
