full leather makes a massive difference on the interior. analogous to a large upscale home with builder finishes vs renovations suitable to it's stature.
i bought my 911 with 15k miles - its at 40k miles now. my earlier years of ownership i drove it like crazy - over the years, i treat it like the imported custom suit that you wear on special occasions. I'm sure seeing my friends fuming every-time their 911s got hit by shopping carts at ikea/walmart, or collisions while driving in bumper to bumper traffic had something to do with me sticking to my daily driver for every day spots.
I keep the 911 for beautiful weather, highway drives. Drive your car as much or as little as you like... it's your money, your car.
I read your comments above Rulaxin and it mirrored almost exactly what I had gone through with an '06 M3 coupe. Finally did break through the 30k mile mark - but felt as you did about regretting the loss of value. (Photo below of the car - it was a great one.) I am determined to not approach my 911 in the same way!

Very nice. Had two E46 M3's and loved them. I didn't realize they made the E46 as late as 2006. Picture attached of my 2002 E46 M3. Went from that to my first 997. An -06 C4S. Picked it up in West Palm Beach FL and have to say that there was a mix of joy and disappointed when I got the Porsche out on the open road and got to compare it to the M3. The only disappointment was power related. I had expected the 997 to feel quiet a bit faster than the M3 but it didn't. I don't want to go as far as saying it felt slower but not far from it. The joy of the overall driving experience soon made me forget about which one felt faster.
I have to say I found the sport mode on my E46 made the throttle crazy twitchy. Felt like the flywheel got 50% lighter instantly, but when you backed off the throttle the car nosedived, and it was hard to feather it on and off without getting bucking. That was 15 years ago, so maybe my memory is faulty. But I hardly used sport mode for that reason.

No, that sounds about right. From my understanding the sport mode button doesn't do anything other than remap the throttle to be much more aggressive.
In contrast, the sport mode button in the 997 seems to actually change a few things for the better.
I've been really slow in working on this car due to picking up a 360 that's a huge project. I did finally get the aerokit painted over the weekend. Hoping the paint matches well but we will see soon when I go to install it. From the tow hook cover and spray card used, it appears to be extremely close.
The rear wing base has some fitment issues and a corner was damaged in shipping. Thinking to take it to a bodyshop as it's not OE and I'd like for it to look decent.
Late reply I know, but great choice. I have an '07 C2 Cab in Lapis blue. I love that color. The wife was skeptical, but now she just stares and says "it's such a pretty car". lol.
If you get a chance, share some interior photos. Mine has the sand interior, which I love, but i was hesitant that it wasn't black. Do you like the blue/black combo or is it ever 'too dark'?

Same, I love blue cars in general but this one is a very nice shade and can change a bit depending on the amount of light available.
I don't think the blue on black is too dark, but I also can't help but think that it would look really good with some natural brown sport seats if I ever happened to come across a set.
I also have an E36 M3 that is blue on black and that one happens to be a rare spec as most were optioned with grey interior, no idea if this combo is rare in the Porsche world or not.
Just realized I forgot to post this here. I made a short video of the suspension install on my car along with some video of the car with the new setup towards the end.
I'm still very happy with this car but I'm finding myself not using it as much as I would like. I think it may be time to get rid of a few of my BMWs to make it a little more accessible and to reduce my choices on the weekend, not to mention reduce the need of maintenance on several needy vehicles.
Hey Steve - Can you post a link of your other video with more focus on coliover install? Thx!
