My new to me C2S came with Hankook ventus V12 evo2 tires. They have a pretty fair amount of treadlife left in them but I don't know the age. The place for the date code on the DOT designation location is blank. The only other thing i can find that might be a date code is a spot where it says 003530 2012. Looks like could be a batch code and date code. This is next to an odd looking symbol. I tried to search for it online but didn't find anything. I thought it might be some other standard production ccde symbol. It looks like an uppercase I with the vertical line broken.
The tires seem a little squirelly to me, TBH. If they really are 2012 that gives me a good reason to replace them.
To add, i have read that it's only required to have the date code on one side of the tire but when it was up on the lift during the PPI we checked the inside of the tires and the date code was missing on the other side too.
Stop by a tire shop (say like Discount Tires) and ask. Maybe Hankook's USA headquarters could help. Other than that how's tire condition? Any cracking in the sidewalls?

Tire date code format is always Production Week Number followed by Year of manufacture (WWYY). It seems strange that the DOT location is blank.
Can you post a pic?
i.e. if it is 2012 it would be 20th week of 2012.
Compare with the pic below from Hankook's own site:
Is there any way to ask the previous owner when the tires were installed? Not sure if you got this at a dealer or private but worth asking. If you can't find the code I would replace them especially if the performance feels suspect.
I did notice they were way overinflated (45psi in the rear!) which is probably why they were skittish. I'll have to deflate and see how they feel but i still want to see if i can figure out how old they are. They definitely aren't worn out. The tread looks nearly new.

Apparently I'm just not paying attention, today I noticed the drivers side front and rear both have the date code on the DOT stamping.
3416 on the rear and 1417 on the front. So, plenty of life left in these tires. I don't know how I missed that at the PPI and looking at the car last week. Weird.
