Sharp! Not sure I'd have the nerve to do it but I like it on your car!

Ever think of changing the steering wheel to wood?

[QUOTE=RJT;16073627]Wanted to go a little retro and had some Houndstooth seat inserts made.
These look fantastic-I have been looking for sample like this. I have a 997 w/ Sport Adaptive seats and want to do a similar old school upgrade. And, I am considering dior panels, too. Do you have any more pics? Did the shop order the fabric? Thank you-David J

Fabric can be bought here (no affiliation), you will see they have the old style fabric which is woolly and the newer style as found in the 911R and 50th anniversary.

Wonder if my seat ventilation would work with this?

I have always wanted houndstooth or a black and white plaid pattern in the insert.

Edit: Just sent Gary an email.

That actually looks like Pepita to me.

I just did this. Got the fabric from Relicate: https://relicate.com/products/porsch...32592643883088

I had mine done in the OEM Agate grey fabric as found in the 911R and 50th anniversary as it provides a modern twist on a classic. Also the fabric is very different in feel and think it will wear better over time.

There is also a back / silver fabric which is now available in the panamera and cayenne as part of a £12k pack here in the U.K. however when I saw it for real it looked very silver and shiny.

At the same time I also had the handbrake, pdk shift surround and centre console arm rest covered in leather to match the extended leather package.

yes finally! There was a separate thread on the UK forum pistonheads where somebody had done this with the classicfx upholstery. I posted a reply there asking about the durability of the newer fabric but never got a response. Strongly considering this for my adaptive sport seats. How is the hand feel on the newer material? It looks in pictures almost as o feel like a more durable ballistic nylon but would love to get actual feedback.

I received swatches for all of the fabrics that Classsicfx stock and also the agate grey from the 911r and the new black/silver.

Classic Houndstooth - Feels woolly and the treads are furry like a cardigan. I feel this fabric will stretch easily as it has no backing to keep the weave in shape. Not in a bad way but it feels like a fabric from the generation it represents, which is what it is intended to be.

911R Agate grey - May appear brownish grey as a swatch but when set against black leather is perfectly muted. Google image 50th anniversary pics as it is the same fabric on similar seats. The fabric does have a feel of ballistic nylon but is soft to touch at the same time, very similar to the Sportex fabric in the 991.2 Carrera T. The actual fabric is mounted on a thin foam backing so is soft to touch but also won’t permit the fabric to stretch.

Black /silver - Same feel and characteristics as the agate grey but the silver is very dominant, in fact I had quite a large swatch as this was my preference till I saw it in the flesh. In the 997 generation the leather is a lighter shade of black compared to the newer cars, therefore the silver becomes very pronounced.
