997.1 - Brake fluid leak under the driver side
Hi Everyone,
I went tracking last night for the first time in my 997.1 and it was a lot of fun!
However unfortunately this morning, as I pull the car out of the garage to go to work, I see a puddle of fluid between the wheel well and the driver's seat. Sure enough, it's brake fluid and soon the car throws a "brake fluid low" error.
I didn't have time to look into it deeper the whole underbody panel is coated and leaking from several places with brake fluid on the left side of the car. I was surprised because i had blown brake lines before in other cars and it was very evident in the brake feel but the 911 still feels "strong". it's not completely mushy.
What typically causes this issue? Could it be the slave cylinder?
Thanks!

You'll need to get under there and find the leak source. Might have to pull the wheel and wheelwell liner. Does the clutch feel OK as they share the same fluid.

Hey guys,
Turns out a hard brake line going in the underbody rusted out and broke, presumably from the pressures applied during lapping. Another one showed early signs of corrosion too so we're swapping it out as well.
I guess it's par for the course for canadian cars that are 12 years old....
