Default Eibach Springs. Anyone have them installed?

So after using the search function, I have seen plenty of Techart spring threads as well as H&R spring threads. I'm wondering if anyone has installed Eibach springs on their 997 (particularly the 997.2).

We all know that Techart is made by Eibach. I'm trying to figure out if the only difference is the price point.

Things that may potentially be the same or different:
- the amount of drop height: 25mm front and 22mm rear for the Techarts according to my search
- how much the springs settle
- the quality of ride (stiffer or softer than oem, takes bumps worse or better)
- cornering (Most likely the springs are much more for look than cornering, unless sway bars are installed too)

Installed them on a 2007 C2 last year, they dropped the car by 1-inch. No noticeable settling and the handling has improved. Quality of the ride is stiffer but feels tighter at the same time.

We installed a set on our old 996 targa and were very happy with them. Stiffened up and lowered the ride without being punishing.

How much worse are the bumps in the road now? I'm not sure if people are just blatantly lying, but some have stated the Techart springs take bumps even better than stock pasm. This seems highly unlikely that aftermarket springs absorb bumps in the road better than oem stock.

P.S. Pictures are highly appreciated

I have the Eibachs and I couldn't be happier. My car had the base non-PASM suspension and IMO it takes the bumps and road imperfections much smoother than before without losing any responsiveness. Before the suspension felt "wooden" when taking bumps now it just rides over them smoothly.

Here's a thread with more info on the Eibachs from the bottom of page 2 onwards.

Has anyone put these on a spring dyno to compare them to the TechArt that cost 2X more? Curious as to how different they are.

I just noticed this, Post #88

https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...l#post12587501

Brads71 comparing his Eibach vs Awrryan Techarts (both have Non-S, No PASM):
"I did some measurements to compare how it turned out with your measurements. So on the floor to fender well, I was 27.25" in the front before. Now its 26". You are 25.75" so maybe I have some settling to do yet? In the rear, I was 28" before and now its 27", which I believe is the same as yours.
On the wheel to fender measurements, mine are now both 1/2" more than yours, which makes sense since I have 18's vs. your 19's. So all in all, it looks like I got really similar results."

Based on these posts, Eibach lowers the car 1.25 inch lower in front = 31.75mm, 1 inch lower in rear = 25.4mm

Compared to EMC2's review on his Techart (also with Non-S, No PASM) where he measured 25mm drop up front and 22mm drop in the rear.

Does this mean Eibach lowers lower than Techart, but higher than H&R???

I'm more interested in ride quality and handling and what the difference in spring rates is.

The link in Post #5 of this thread is useful for description of ride quality. No word on spring rate.

Like I mentioned earlier, most people on this forum have been saying the ride quality for Eibach and Techart springs are very close to OEM stock pasm, and better ride than non-pasm.

Brother, I called Eibach directly and spoke with two different people. None of them could tell me what the spring rate was on the Eibach springs for a GTS. The H&R rep I called rattled them off like he knew them from memory.

I wish you luck in your search for that info. Please provide it when/if you find out.

Maybe I should have gone that route at $300 instead of $600+ for the TechArt

I'll re-measure the drop with my techart springs Thursday or Friday and post back here.

Installed Eibachs on my 05 997S over a year and ~5500 miles ago and it was roughly a 0.5" drop over stock PASM height. I noticed an immediate huge improvement in handling and I've always felt the Eibachs match the stock Bilsteins really perfect. In non-sport mode previously when hitting bumps the car felt too loose and would rock back and forth some but after the Eibachs it became (in my opinion) actually enjoyable to drive in normal mode because they tightened things up just enough to feel more sporty without losing too much "comfort". In sport mode though things are super tight now and it stays flatter in cornering than it did before and I've done a few autoX's with them. Unlike some springs from other manufacturers, Eibachs actually improve the handling and ride quality and there has been no noticeable sagging from my measurements.

I have recently installed Eibach springs on my '07 997.1 S with PASM. Ride is very comfortable, I actually don't notice any difference in ride quality. Search my user name and you will see pictures before and after

Following this thread.... Working through the same learning process/diligence to determine whether to do anything with my 997.2 C4S cab (PASM)... Not sure if this is "worth it" for a non-track, weekend car....? Matter of personal taste I guess...
