Hi all,
My first post here, looking to close on a 2011 C4S and would like some direction on pricing. It's black/black well-spec'd with PDK, sport-chrono (plus), PSE, PASM of course, sport design steering wheel. Has standard leather, not full leather. Mileage is a little on the high side at ~76,000 mi.
Also has Fabspeed side mufflers. This will be my first Porsche. I could have gone 991, but wanted a more "authentic" experience, plus am thinking I'll lose less to depreciation on a 997.2 (2-3 year time frame) than on a 991. VINanalytics tells me original price was $112,805.
Thoughts?
Also, why is KBB so different from the ask prices (and I presume sale prices) that I see listed. I.e. KBB estimates seem to run $5k - $8k lower than what's listed out there.
Thanks in advance.
The 997.2 prices seem a little high lately. There was an excellent S for 50k here in Rennlist which I think is a bargain (if it's still available) the owner kept great records.
Last year in May, I bought a C4S for 42% of original MSRP - it only had 40k miles. Those same cars seem to be running at about 52-55% of original sticker now.
There might be some softer prices in the fall or if there is a market correction.
Your post isn't clear as to the options - the way you wrote "except full leather..." leads me to believe it does not have those things.
I think a C4S is a safe bet but realize what your 'all in' price will be. In my book - all maintenance (time and miles) up to date - sales tax, acquisition costs and other slippage, and possibly a Fidelity Warranty if you're not a wrencher and are risk adverse.

Black Book is way more accurate. But a lot of those sites don’t take into account after factory add ons so the seller’s asking price should take those into account and that is one reason why asking price is higher.
I think over 50k is pushing it with those miles, even with a great history. High 40s is my guess depending on condition and other things not mentioned.
The price is high (mileage and uncertain about options) . This one was ~ $54k with 40k miles / 2 owners and a real nice set of options. Seller agreed to bring all mileage and time maintenance up to date as part of the sale - we split that 50/50. Condition was like new.
