Default Tick/knock?

08 C2, PPI performed 700 miles ago and just rolled over 50k miles yesterday. Took it out for a drive and ran it to about 15 miles left of gas and planned to refuel in a day or so. Got home and pulled in the garage and noticed a tick/knock from the rear. Considering I just got the car I am hoping I’m just paranoid but would love input from anyone with more knowledge and experience. Here’s a video of it running at temp. Oil level is full and drives normal. Thoughts?

Low on fuel? Your fuel pump gets extra noisy when low on fuel since it's in your tank. Could also be that.

Scope your cylinders - from the top and bottom.

Please also temporarily remove your serpentine belt (completely; don't want an accident) and re-shoot the video.

Possibly a water pump going south? If you listen from underneath the car on the driver's side, does it get louder?

The reason (I'm assuming) @jchapura suggests removing the serpentine belt is to help determine if it is an ancillary component that could be the culprit, or the engine itself.

Yes, it gets noticeable louder when looking under the driver side rear.

That's a good idea.

The noise I don't like is the clunk, clunk you can hear a couple of times.

if it’s the WP, any others items that make sense to do at the same time?
