Default Transmission Oil Questions

Fellas,
Made a big mistake by only ordering 3L of mobile ptx 75w90 figuring I had room for error for my trans flush. That was a fail manage to spill some...

Question is it ok to mix in a different brand such Royal purple max gear 75w90 or mobile 75w90 LS? Since I can get this locally.

Probably ok if it carries the same standard. But running a little low on fluid is on as well. Better than over full. If you got 2.8-2.9 liter in, you should be good. Mine didn't take all three liter anyhow....

If your super worried, pour some alternative in, buy more ptx and redo the whole thing. It's only 100 bucks and 30 mins time.

I wouldn't mix anything else in with it. Base stocks of oils can be different and create issues when mixed. How much did you spill?

At best, order another litre, and complete the job. At, worst, can you re-use some of what you drained from your clean catch-can?

If your using the correct fill hole (there are 2 which can be confused), it should only take about 2.7L so if that's all you lost you should be very close. I'd say you can drive the car while waiting for the next bottle to arrive, but if you lost more than that, like 1/2 bottle then don't drive it.

Bend a piece of wire at 90 degrees, and insert it into the fill hole like a dipstick to see how far below the bottom of the hole level you are.
