Exhaust modification. Gundo-ish plus center muffler.
This has probably been done but thought I would share some photos anyway.
Wanted to do a Gundo type mod but liked the idea of the exhaust having a more natural flow path. I merged in a 1.875 u-bend at the outside of the inlet and outside of the outlet bends in the muffler tubing, trying to match angles for best flow.
Does this matter? No idea. Probably not, but I did it anyway.
Secondly, I took two sections of 2.25in 18ga stainless pipe, cut to 4.25in length and sliced lengthwise with an abrasive wheel. I used these to sleeve the outlets of the center muffler, blocking 80% of the perforated section, held in by a single tack weld. Inlet sides of the tubes were beveled so no sharp edge on entry.
If it's too quiet I can put in longer sections to completely block off. If too loud I can shorten or remove completely.
Will these be restrictive? I don't think so. Other parts of the exhaust has crimps that effectively make the inner diameter smaller in sections than these 2 straight sleeved parts. (Not to mention a 180deg bend on each internal side of the center muffler before reaching this).
Only question is, does it sound good? I will get the mufflers back on asap and let you know.

looks like a new twist on the Fister mod, but with better flow design as you mentioned. Curious to hear how you like it and post a video with before and after sound if you can. cool mod!

Nice work!

Beautiful cut lines and the weld lines are also really clean. I am interested in hearing what this may sound on the 997.2

Thanks guys. The welds aren't my best work but wasn't going for perfection since the rest of it is mig welded from the factory.
Here are fitment pics. Hard to see but probably a half inch+ clearance.

I'm really happy with the sound. More than stock at part throttle but still rather quiet in the car. Wakes up a lot with rpm/throttle input. Wouldn't say the effort to merge in a u-bend vs a straight pipe is probably worth it. A lot more work and from what I can tell in videos not really much difference in sound. (vs straight tube connection)
