Default Big surprise on delivery of my new 997.....

I recently bought my first 997 - a 2006 C2S. I posted a thread about how I bought it, but the general logistics are:
  • i am in Oklahoma
  • bought the car in Hawaii sight unseen from a dealer
  • shipping took a while, but it arrived 3 days ago.
So, I knew that there were a lot of cosmetic mods, but not having a real PO to talk to, I was u aware of the other minor mods to the car. For example:
  • short shift kit
  • suspension change (drives like a Cayman S)
  • oh, and BTW.....IT HAS BEEN SUPERCHARGED!!!!

“You know that time....that you buy a car and then only find out on delivery that it HAS A VF ENGINEERING SUPER CHARGER ON IT”

For the record, I am ecstatic! This is something I would not chose to do on my own, but I love it! I see this as a big, big bonus!

ill try a few early pics.

Delivery

Hey...WHATS THAT???

First ride with Mama

Who else in OK has a 912 WITH HAWAII PLATES????

The wheels are really something

.

Sweet car! I didn't read your other thread but how on earth did you not know it had a supercharger?! I can see the short shift kit being hidden maybe but between PPI, dealer info, or maybe a picture of engine you didn't know?

Wow, spendy supercharger found. Nice!
Should help the sting as you spend about 4k replacing those wheels.

Did you really buy and ship a 997 without ever seeing a single photo under the engine lid?

Yeah, I am embarrassed I did not know about the supercharger. There was one pic of the engine, and (sin of all sins) I did not do a PPI.

Before you judge me too harshly, i was very very careful in picking my wife (PPI done). She’s a keeper!

(I think I’m keeping the wheels too!)

Clearly you were due for good Karma. Hope the car is trouble free in the long run without a PPI run & all you want it to be.
I am in the minority & think you should keep the rims.
Your wife carefully matched her dress & nails to the car so she has to be a keeper!
