Beyond a choice of manual or PDK... lightness.

Used to be a must be manual guy but have moved past that with the PDK which is a blast and a must for me along with sport chrono. Wide body too and with the latest purchase a GTS. The GT2 bucket seats have become a must too as is black exterior and interior. I know, a PIA to keep clean but they do look so damn good after a good wash and detail. At least for 10 minutes. Full leather is really nice but not a deal breaker. XM satellite radio is a plus too but not a deal breaker either. All the rest I can do without.

I bought my 2011 997C2 brand new back in 2010, my must have list was:
- Carrara White
- PDK (Crucify me)
- Sport Chrono Plus (launch control)
- Sportdesign steering wheels (shift paddles)
- Turbo II Wheels

Hands down the best car I ever had.

1). Manual
2). Full leather
3). Heated seats

Thats it. Would have preferred vented seats, steering heating, crest in headrest, sports exhaust, leather wrapped visors and center console.

My #1 option was sport seats (or better) and heated seats. I always knew I wanted a 3.6, manual, .2. I was willing to sacrifice color and many other options to get those two things. Ended with:

Black on Black
Heated front Seats
Bluetooth Interface
PCM
Bose
Universal Audio interface
Colormatched mats
Self Dimming Mirrors
Colored wheel Caps
5MM Spacers
19" Carrera S II Wheels
Sport Seats
PASM

Must haves for me were:
997.2 (9A1 vs M96/97)
Manual
Heated Seats

Otherwise as little else as possible. Lighter, and fewer things to break

Must haves for me:
1. Manual

Everything else was secondary. I felt fortunate to find my first color combo choice in a great car: Cobalt blue w/Savannah beige. Would also have liked white w/red leather, which is what my dad's 1967 912 had.

Must have: 997.2 with PDK in Carrara White and Grey interior with whole life spent in the Southwest. Living in Phoenix, a white car helps a ton with summer heat and I didn't want a black nor beige interior so once I found it, I bought it.
Nice to have: Head unit with Apple Carplay & navigation, built in Radar/Laser detector, Bose speakers, memory seats
Would not miss: Almost never use the heated seats and steering wheel, car cover
