Do you STILL love your car?

Top down today. So nice here in Cleveland at 58 degrees and sunny. Going to take the kids out for ice cream tonight.
This is my 2nd 911, 3rd Porsche overall. Cannot beat the value of the 997 right now. I prefer the 992 over the 991, but at 3X cost of the 997, I dont think I will have 3x the fun.

Groovzilla ! You beat me to it... I should have thought about wearing a diaper on my crazy canyon runs a long time ago too, but I usually hand out diapers only to my passengers!
9 years later and damn right I still love my 997. The excitement level can be so high in these cars screaming through the canyons that I have not been able to justify spending an additional $50k-100k for a newer model. The 997 is the best pill you could ever take to cure depression, stress, anxiety, low blood pressure, baldness, low testosterone, erectile dysfunction, enlarged prostate, Cardiovascular disease, low self esteem, FOMO "fear of missing out" and all other kinds of mediocrity and boredom!
This is how I usually look after a good canyon run!

Few more days will be my 1 year anniversary with my 997TTS.
Absolutely Love this thing. Luckily here in the Atlanta area I can drive it all year (mostly).
I've done 5000+ plus miles on it in just my first year.
Now, I still "jones" for an upgrade to the 991.1 or .2 TTS, but that's just my nature to want / desire
the newest / latest / greatest / fastest / most powerful, but the budget won't have it. Maybe someday.
However, I do feel the 997 styling will go down as one of the best 911 styles there ever was.

So, today, after a very long time I went on a road trip, summer wheels back on, fresh oil and fresh brake fluid... nothing crazy and not too many nice curvy roads, and even it rained most of the day... BUT, it was SO ENJOYABLE, I truly loved the feel of the car yet again, the engine and exhaust noise, the gear change, the change of direction and handling, the turn-in, the driving position, how everything is in reach of my arm, all controls, etc... it was just SO MUCH FUN!
It's not the fastest, not the prettiest, doesn't have all the new gadgets, not as balanced as less rear bias 991, etc... but it once again reminded me WHY I bought this car 9yrs ago, it's FUN!!! I am once again in LOVE with my car...
What about you guys? Is everyone enjoying their 997? Do you have the upgrade itch?
PS. Anyone in the market for sports car, SKIP all new faux sporty cars in 997 price range, and find yourself a nice pre-owned 997, you will NOT regret it!

I love mine even more! I took her across Florida from Naples to Miami a few weeks ago and it was awesome. Solid, planted and flying.......the TB rocket flew across the state and had me smiling the whole way!

I'll be honest. I have the itch to upgrade. Browse Autotrader everyday. What makes it harder to resist is that now I actually have the financial capability to do so without taking out any loans. But I'm not doing it as it's not the smartest thing to do at this point of my life. I can always upgrade later.
The other reason is I can't let the car go. Has been a perfect car, my 1st 911, and pretty much problem free. When I do upgrade my goal is to keep this one. Maybe give it to my dad to drive around. I think it would be cool that 25 to 30 years from now and my first 911 would still be with me. I love reading the stories in panorama about folks kept and still run their Porsches from 20, 30 or even 40 years ago.

Yes I love to drive mine as it is a daily driver. No matter how bad work is some days, I always arrive home with a smile. Oh and I love to road trip in it. I put 1,000 miles on it since last Monday. I love Texas.

Yes - not only do I love my car, I love almost everyone else's.
I have Porsche fever. I want a long nose, I want a 356, I want a GT2 RS, I want a forest green 997 MT with wood interior, I want a 997.2 cab (again) and a GT4.
I want all of them and no one else should have one. Just like Leonardo DiCaprio cornered the unicorn market and the Hunt brothers tried with silver, I want the Porsches.

Absolutely still love it - love all of them, but the RUF 997 is my absolute favorite. It's tough to balance wanting to drive it all the time with wanting to make sure it lasts forever - that has translated to 3,500 - 5,000 miles per year since I bought it in 2012. I'll never sell any of them.
My 914 will someday be enjoyed by my son too, as it's the only one that doesn't have so much power to get a young driver into real trouble.
And you're right, the extra 100 HP just cranks up the enjoyment level even more. Drove it to the airport this week and was running late for my flight, but made it because of the 997

Up and including the 997's there is something organic about the 911's that is simply pure to form which has somehow been lost as they went newer .... Don't get me wrong the newer ones are nice in their own way just different ....not the same more like a second cousin. This is a perfect example where less is more ..

I've owned my 997 for almost 4 years now and I still absolutely love it. I used to change cars approx every 1-1.5 years so keeping the same one for this long says a lot about how much I like it.
I still look back at it while I walk away, and sometimes I still can't believe that it is actually my car!
I hope I never have to sell it
