Deal or no Deal 2010 997.2 C4s
Hi guys I have been on the forum for a while but I don't post often I just read what of you guys have to say and try my best to pickup good tips. I am at a crossroad at the moment I found a 2010 997.2 c4s with 100k mile on it. for 42k. All service done at Beverly Hills Porsche except the 100k which was done by an independent dealer a month ago. The C4/s are my favorites I just like the AWD cars always have. The car is out of state and I would need to get it shipped I have never purchased a car without driving it first and letting my mechanic check it out. PPI has been down as well and it passed it just has normal wear and tear inside nothing major I can tell from the photos or from what I was told by the company that did the PPI. I guess I want to know what you guys think

My mechanic told me the same thing. He was thinking $37,500 max but I couldn't find anything online to compare. The only C4s I found with high miles was on here and the owner is asking 48k. Thanks for the reply I am going to keep looking

I am biased but I wouldn't let my 2010 C4S PDK with 120K miles go for that price!!!
Is the car what you want? Color, options, etc. At that mileage I'm guessing this is a long term purchase rather than a car you plan to flip. Amortize the price difference over how many years you'll have it and realize there aren't a lot of these cars that come to market.
These cars are just breaking in at 100K as far as I can tell, assuming they've been cared for.
Good luck with your decision.

Where are you at in the negotiations? As your mechanic said the money on this car is probably sub 38. You can always go up or walk away.
Its not your issue the initial $48K ask was way above market, so 6 discount still doesn't make it a car deal.

I told the dealer I would make my mind up by 10am this morning. I browsed for hours last night trying to get a feel of want they are worth but like a few members have said they don't come on the market very often

My way of seeing it, every 10k miles takes $2000-2500 off the normal range for one of these cars. In my view, a 40-50k mile car sells for about 40-50% of original sticker. A little more for a hard top and stick, a little less for a cab and PDK. A lot more for desirable PTS. Is there a warranty? Those can really add value. I've driven 20k mile Turbo S that felt like that had 200,000 miles on them and I've driven like new 911s that had 150k + miles on them. You're buying the owner as much as the car.
That 2009 that Cannonball linked to looks good.

I believe there is an extensive thread here about a guy who bought and traded from Beverly Hills Porsche sight unseen and it did not work out well to say the least. I bought mine sight unseen from Santa Barbara Porsche and it worked out great.

I'm in same boat in terms of trying to establish valuation on a 60K 2009 C4S with PDK.. the prices are all over the place. Personally i think low 40's to high 30s is about right for that mileage. As a reference i'm looking at low 50s for the car I'm considering... low mileage examples seem to be in higher 50s to low 60s BUT if your patient there do seem to be private sale ones with low miles that come in surprisingly cheap. The issue with Porsche is of course trying to find one with all the right options so there is always some give and take.. in my case the car has 18 way sport adaptive seats which i really like and aren't that common so i'm willing to pay a premium for those.

Thanks a lot for the response, I have waited for a long time but I guess I can wait a little longer the money isn't going anywhere at the moment. I hope something else pops up this year with the same options
