Thinking of GT3 wheels for my Maritime C2 - need some help finding pictures
Hi All,
I bought BruceR's Maritime C2 and I'm considering some new rims. Top of the list right now are OZ Superforgiata or OZ Ultraleggera hlt. The other consideration are the 997.1 GT3 rims - I'm looking for some help finding pictures of .1 GT3 rims on standard cars - ie with a regular front bumper to see if these rims work well with a base car. I'm also thinking black, but I'm on the fence with that one. I like the concept of a mild 'homage' to a 964RS, given my PTS color, but would like to keep any mods reversible.
I have eibachs and 15mm spaces, and RSS engine mounts waiting to install. Just trying to decide on rims and tires.
Still early days yet, so any suggestions welcome.
BruceR's old car (and his photo)
The eibachs, spacers and some larger tires should 'fill' the wheel wells are little more with the current carrera classics.
964 with black rims:
Another 997 Maritime with black fuchs:
Maritime GT3 with silver rims:
991 GT3 Maritime with black rims:
With respect to GT3 rims on regular 997, I'm struggling, but have a few from Google, and have not found any with black rims:
Turbo:
Thanks for your help.

Silver.
Very rarely do I like black wheels on a car and even when I do, think silver would look at least as good if not better.
I can't help you with GT3 pics on a normal bodied 997,but here they are on my wife's modified C2S
I also have some polished Champion rs171s for sale that have a similar split-fork spoke design. They're considerably lighter and have a cleaner look IMO. Ad is in the marketplace, but here's one shot of what they look like. Being polished, they go with every color. Perfect NB fitment.

Have you tried looking into a hyper silver or a brushed aluminum/silver finish? I think the oem shade of silver looks bland on our 997, especially with the reg bumpers & trim.

No love for the black... I was 60% convinced that was the direction I was going in! Now I'm re-thinking it. The 964 with silver rims does look good
Thanks - If I ever make up my mind and want to try the OZ's I'll let you know.
Thanks for the pictures - what a unique color. I do really like how 'organic' looking the GT3 rims are, fits wheel with a 911's curves. The Champions wheel do have great appeal, simple design and lightweight, however they are more than I want to spend. Good luck with the sale.
Hyper silver is 'brighter'?

GT3 997.1 are 19".
Gunmetal is another option - here is a Maritime Spyder with dark grey rims:
Thanks! And it is certainty is the cheapest option! It is a slippery slope.
