Window Gremlin
Searched the forum but didn't find this specific thread - apologies if I missed it. Driving home tonight, my driver's window started rapidly cycling a few millimeters open/closed/open/closed. It went down the same amount as when you open the door. When the window was open the few millimeters, the cabin lights came on. Happened 7-8 different sets of times and then stopped. Sounds like a switch/sensor problem to me. Appears the car thinks the door is open. Assistance or ideas appreciated, y'all.

It's the microswitch behind the interior door handle. That pin is molded into the silver handle on the back. If it does it again, push the inside handle.toward the door and I bet it stops. Your pin may have worn a little. On mine, I drilled a very small hole right in the center and added a very short metal pin in the hole that now makes the microswitch all the time.

The gremlin went away on its own for a while but came back this evening. I tried your fix tonight, Pete. The good news is, I was able to replicate your fix by drilling out a bit and putting part of a metal brad in there as an extension of the contact. The bad news: it's not working. The door thinks it's open, so I can't lock the car. I'm thinking the microswitch has failed.

Is the handle loose? Open maybe a 16th of an inch?

My mechanism broke and the window acted similarly.

When my window switch was bad it was more of a not work that work too much, cycling.
At any rate - lots of good threads on this 997 forum.
