New to me 2007 C2 6MT
Hi folks, longtime lurker, first time poster. In January I picked up a 2007 Carrera from a local Porsche dealer:
It is a 6MT with 60k on the clock and these specific options:
<!--td {border: 1px solid #ccc;}br {mso-data-placement:same-cell;}-->BASE Porsche Base Model
342 Heated Front Seats
670 Navigation for PCM
680 Bose High End Sound Package
AP Black Sport Seats
M6A Black Mats - Porsche lettering
P74 Bi-Xenon Headlamp Package
P77 Leather Sport Seats
X1 Arctic Silver Metallic
XLF Sport Exhaust System
I really like this combination of simplicity and light weight (18" wheels, manual sport seats) with creature comforts like heated seats and the PSE button for spousal acceptance. It looks like there were a block of 25 identical cars made with sequential comm numbers (from the very useful https://vinanalytics.com website). I suspect these were demo cars pre-configured by Porsche for use by dealers as demos and maybe for sales staff to drive. A recent BaT auction had an identical spec as well, although that was a 2006. The car came with a big stack of records showing it was local to Southeastern PA its whole life and was well maintained by local dealerships and by the owners themselves (hand written notes in the maintenance section of the owner's manual, etc). It came with a few mods, a Fabspeed Competition Air Intake (the dual cone carbon fiber one) that I'm not sure delivers lots of extra power but it sure screams above 5500 rpm. The factory airbox was provided in the front trunk in case I want to switch back to stock. The previous owner also installed Carrera vinyl stripes on the sides which I was unsure of at first but which have kinda grown on me. I could remove them to return back to a stock look fairly easily if desired. Also the salesman at the Porsche dealer seemed to believe this has some sort of DME reflash based on how it drives but I don't see any evidence in Durametric scans. etc. Speaking of Durametric, I used that to check the rev report and it has only one ignition in range 3 (likely glitch?) and none in 4 through 6. I graphed engine roughness and everything is within -1 to +1, fuel trims look pretty good.
So far I have replaced LED fogs with yellow Sylvania H8 halogen ones (the aftermarket were flickering and causing faults), replaced the tired hood and engine cover struts, added a phone mount, and sourced a collapsible 996tt spare wheel/tire and a 986 foam liner and jack, which I put in the front trunk after relocating the Bose amp. I gave up a bit of cargo room for peace of mind on longer trips.
Thanks to posts by people like 997_rich , Flat6 Innovations , and others, I knew some of what to expect in purchasing and owning a 997. I look forward to learning more and sharing anything that I learn along the way.

Thanks for the compliments, Fined and Freakhead!
I got the Rennline magnetic mount from Pelican:

I have a magnetic mount in my other car so I already have a steel disc stuck to the Magpul case for my iPhone so it was easy and quick to install.
A previous owner had installed the factory ipod/aux dock in the armrest and even included an old ipod to lightning connector adapter. Unfortunately it doesn't charge my 6S plus so I opted to use a separate charging cable and aux cable. Sound quality isn't great due to it being RF but it's better than nothing and sounds fine with windows and sunroof open.

I got a Rennline mount through Pelican. Install wasn't bad and I already have a steel disc glued to my Magpul case on my 6Splus for use in my other car so it was stick on and go.
Just North of Philadelphia. It's even snowier now ... with lots of salt on the roads. I try to keep the 997 away from salt so it hasn't been my daily driver for a few days.

Nice ride and already modding... not bad. I also like the side graphic on your Arctic Silver. Your happiness meter is surely going to go up!
I'm local in Elkins Park and also interested in a local ride with other Philly area owners. Let's get it together.
