Hey, I know the OP. All he does is talk P-cars all day Nice car for sure! He convinced me to make an account here.

I just picked up a 944 will post in relevant forums probably after this weekend. We need an "intro" forum or something

Since it's the 1 year anniversary of my purchase I figured I would update this thread. My odometer showed 64,681 this morning which means I have put 4,192 miles on it. This car has never let me down and never fails to put a smile on my face even for a mundane commute or errand run. Checking over my notes I have done $1,788.26 in maintenance and repairs. The only items I didn't do myself were the ones I couldn't (matching a second key since the car only came with one, and getting the PA state inspections and emissions testing done). Thanks to this forum I learned a great deal and gained confidence in being able to tackle seemingly-daunting projects, saving thousands of dollars in the process. Also who can say no to acquiring new tools?

I'm looking forward to another year of driving fun and maybe tackling some minor projects along the way.

Hopefully this formats well:

Congrats on DIYing, wish I had the time and talent, you saved a lot of money and gained a lot of satisfaction Im sure. I just had my tranny fluid changed as well with PTX - do you notice a big difference with the PTX going into 1st and 2nd? Mine changed for the better somewhat, but not absolute; maybe the fluid needs to 'break in' a bit more.

Thanks, Sporty! I honestly don't notice much difference with the PTX. I thought it had cured the first gear lockout but yesterday I had it happen. I plan to bleed the clutch when I bleed the brake fluid at my next oil change (summertime) so maybe that will help. Oh well, I have gotten used to the quirks of this transmission and they are easy enough to work around.

Curious about the key replacement at Warrington Porsche. They just quoted me $390 to order, cut and program a 2nd key (I also only received one when purchased). Did they charge you a programming fee as well?

The key pricing was a little confusing since I was planning to order the key from Suncoast as a fob and a blank but Warrington's parts department (Eugene is great) was able to price match. Honestly I was leery about buying a key fob from a 3rd party and then having something go wrong with the programming anyway. I can see how the dealer would blame the supplier and vice versa. Your $390 quote total sounds about right but definitely ask them to give you a PCA discount and/or price match. I have found they will price match competitors' prices with shipping, which seems quite fair. I even used that for muffler clamps, a cheap item, but why overpay if you don't have to?

Just realized we have the same year/model - Like you have have enjoyed my 2007 997S model. I just hit 55,600 miles
Did you every install the short shift kit?
I also suggest lowering the car with H&R springs using the 1&1/8" kit which is 1/8" lower than the other H&R kit offered. Allows use of PASM and gives car better handling and looks
Enjoy!!

Thanks but mine isn't an S so no PASM etc. I haven't tried a short shift kit and honestly the stock suspension and ride height are fine for the driving I do.

Welcome and congrats she is a beauty. You will like the 18" wheels and the smoother ride. The level 3 overrev is definitely a glitch so all good. Not that it would be an issue anyway.
