IMHO, it is each of our responsibility to check to make sure we aren't duplicating guesses by searching previous ones, and if we make an error, correcting it in a timely manner. Not to throw jimfuerst under the bus (I'm under here with ya! ), but he and I both neglected to that this time. No worries, a learning experience for all.

So far, loving my guess. Seller getting a PPI at the Porsche dealer on the last day of the auction, no overrev report (so far)? Chances they find nothing wrong is close to 0. Potential buyer will have little time to ask follow ups. If they don't turn the PPI around today, even worse perception.

Bungled auction IMO.

I can't imagine this selling in the 20's. A nationwide search on cars.com of 911 manual coupes from 2005 up finds only ONE that's under 30 and it's a private seller with 147,000 miles. The next cheapest is $33,210 for a '05 C2 with 80k miles. This current BaT car has a clean Carfax, 87k miles, nothing obviously wrong with it and a fairly responsive seller despite not having a DME and PPI ready to go.

Fun debate. I still like the ~ $ midpoint between the 147K for 25K and the 33K C2.

No PPI - DME yet, and mrhappy not bidding. Long as GPappy doesn’t start bidding I’m a liking my chances! Fixin to bust out of the 1 win category which is filled with luck and into the 2 win category which means you have skill, intelligence, and studness.

I agree the seller didn't do himself any favor by not having a PPI before the auction started. The small bearing IMS 2005s have a real market value discount whether people think it is fair or not... so there is a theoretical value ceiling (you can see what that is based on my guess... )

The question is where the reserve is set...

Good luck with that. Unless no one else bids it is going over your guess, sorry.

PPI says slight coring present in #6.

Scoring, whether slight or not, and no DME .. . lol, about the DME is only a problem or concern in the turbos comment. WTH?

Go through the trouble of scoping, but no DME???

I would be surprised if the reserve is less than $30k.

People/He/She/It/That ---> Please make the effort to copy/paste the Guess & Win list when you comment

I'm having a hard tome getting my head around the final Bid. I figured with all the high bidding on S and C4S's lately some newbie would plunk down $34,500 for a non-S coupe.

The fact the car is in Sibera-cuse is reason enough to squelch bidding on a national platform like BaT.

That said, mine came out of Rochester and the only penalty (so far...knock wood) were those effin' exhaust bolts. And they were a very dear price to pay...

Seller has been transparent and cooperative so kudos to him.
It’s too bad they didn’t provide photos of the alleged scoring.
We’ll see what happens tomorrow.

So if GPappy wins he gets the double-dip since he got the car and the exact bid. Exotic way to climb to 6 wins, but hey, gotta like his style!

Good luck GPappy, we'll be rootin' for ya! In retrospect, and now with the bore score message in the ppi, I don't think it'll hit my number. That said, slight bore score shouldn't be a worry, as that is apparently quite common. (there is a goodthread on this topic elsewhere, with pictures of good engines with slight bore scoring).
