I would appreciate the wisdom from the prognosticators.
Why don't you chime in on the BAT Comments?? Explain the accident was glass replacement - I think you are doing yourself a disservice having the dealer answer this important question
Raby made a long post on the auction, that's a big deal. Tough call on pricing this one considering it's uniqueness and mileage. Strong early bidding. It think it could tickle $40k, which is very rare for an '05.
Thanks everyone. It was a fun one to watch. I wonder how much the winter driving factored into the price?
Now where do I go to receive my fame and fortune??
Is there any rule covering the number of days an auction must be open in order to be selected for guessing? Only two 997s active currently - one of them being the one with the Raby engine and it has just 3 days to go.

Just try to pick one that at least 3-4 days out since we have a 48 cut off rule. Otherwise, pick whatever you want. You could wait a day or two to see if something new comes in that better suits your liking.
I'm going to select the '05 with the Raby engine in it for a couple reasons. The first is that I feel it's a unique use-case, and the second because I'd rather not delay another couple days.
I think this is an interesting and challenging car to value due to the rebuilt engine. Will this increase value, decrease value, or have no impact - this will be good to see. Everyone knows a big reason for the lower 997.1 values is higher risk of several engine issues, but a Raby engine is good insurance (if not guarantee) against that. That should comfort buyers but not sure about collectibility impact. The accident on the carfax (even if explained as glass replacement) seems to always impact a 911's market value. Between the engine, accident history, and mileage, if the car could be had at a low price, I think it would be a fantastic car for someone who isn't concerned with resale and just wants a reliable 997 they can drive all the time and not worry about. With the rebuilt engine, I'd feel confident the car will go well beyond 200k miles if properly cared for.
Auction closes in 3 days so you only have 1 day to get your estimate in.
