Hi everyone,

I was thinking to do something a little different on my 997.2 rear end.

Looking through some Porsche adds, I ran across a 997.2 Turbo rear bumper diffuser for sale. To be honest, I never knew it was a bolt on. Always thought it was part of the bumper.
The piece needs some works as it's all scratched and whatnot. Also, I know it will not just bolt right on my car, as my car is not a wide body. Therefore, it needs to be cut in the middle and fused back together to remove the extra material.

Picture 4 is of the Turbo 997.2 with the piece.
Picture 5 is of my car.

The question I have is, if anyone has tried doing this before? If so, how does it look and is it even worth trying this? What are your thoughts?

If it's PUR like the bumper material, a good body shop should be able to split it then weld it back together. I'd find a shop willing to do it before buying the part, but if you like the look, why not?

Are the shape of the turbo bumper and your bumper the same on the sides behind the rear wheel. If one tapers down to a curve of a different shape or on a different angle getting the sides to line up and look right will be more challenging.
