I just bought a GT3 base w/GT wing blade bolt-on for a 997 the instructions says it comes with
a wire harness that prevents the fault light on the dash from coming on at speed.
What is the fault light??? and the instructions say take it to a Porsche dealer to be reset.
Carid where I bought it, says it an option, but doesn't say it in the description when I bought
The manufacture of the spoiler said I don't need it. If the fault lite comes on take it to a Porsche dealer.
We know what that would cost!!! Does anyone know how to reset the fault light???
He said it required micro switches to be reset. WTF Help.

Reason: Add stuff
Since your new wing doesn't move you need to delete the stock movable wing mechanism. In a 997.2 you just need to have the option "fixed wing" checked in the computer so it never tries to lift spoiler at 75 mph or when you click button. Some shops will do it for free or dealer may charge an hour allthough takes 2 minutes when computer is plugged in. I think you need the wiring harness you got for the 997.1 for same results.
I don't think I'm stupid, but I can't find where I do that. I don't have a owners manual, bought the car used.
How can I do that, I can't find it in the computer settings. How do I check the option "fixed wing" Help ???
Please.....Bill

You can’t access the computer in the car unless you have a PIWIS which runs over 10k. You will need to take it to a dealer or an Indy that has an unlocked PIWIS.

FWIW if you don't want to go a dealer, I have disabled the spoiler lift on my MY2010 Carrera S with the Foxwell NT510/520 diagnostic tool, which costs ca. USD 100 IIRC.
Or the Durametric Pro, which is capable of coding (writing options into the electronic modules of the car). If we knew where you were located, maybe someone with one of these tools would help you out. If you bought the defeat harness and it's similar to the one sold by Dave at Rennkit it will work or you need to keep the stock 997 harness, tape the two microswitch limit switches from the spoiler decklid closed and then code the option for fixed wing.
My RUF car had their fixed bi-plabne wing when I bought it and I converted it to be active aero, modifying some 996 hydraulics, and later trepkaced those with Rennkit's Eram kit and warning defeat harness, so doing exactly the opposite of what you're trying to do.
For sale, $1000 + shipping or pick up, original $1500 + shipping. It will fit a NA Coupe. It says convertible, but it won't fit the top won't go down.
It's new, painted flat black.
I will never buy anything from Cardid again.
