Default Stereo/amp question

Does anyone know whether the CDR24 setup without Bose and without a CD changer still has the fiber optic/MOST wiring loop?

If not does that mean you can simply add an amp/upgrade speakers to the CDR24 like you would for any other (normal!) car audio setup?

last question.. any good installers in the SF Bay Area? (also posted this in the audio forum, will share anything interesting I learn back here)

thanks
Matty

If you don't have Bose, you don't have the fiber optic connection from the PCM to the amp - it's a traditional setup, so yes, you can replace the amp with a regular one. Even with Bose you can replace speakers, as the connection from the amp to the speakers is a normal 2 wire setup.

I changed all my Bose speakers to Focals in my S, keeping the PCM and Bose amp to not deal with the fiber optic connection.

Oo great... so where is the amp in the non-Bose setup? Hopefully enough space to replace with something better.

Same frunk location I believe, unless it's a cab and the. I think it's on the passenger side of the center tunnel inside the car (and why the cabs use a different shape of floor mat).
