MT or Tip?

if MT, there's an unused connector at the backvrear of the engine bay (square connector with 2 contacts inside, and a spring clip). One contact of the 2 inside is 12v switched.

I use it for the warning defeat module from my active aero Eram kit. I've actually purchased the mate to this connector so I can clean up the install by having the 2 connectors fit together instead of the crimped on connector slid into it, but haven't gotten around to that yet.

Dave, I think I sent you this info via email wit the photos when I did the install, but maybe not.

Here are some more. I used carbon fiber bicycle handlebar as a wireway across the RUF rear CF decklid to make the wiring tidy.

Hmmm, not sure then. This connector might be in use on your car and connected to the transmission in some way - that's how it is on the Tips, but take a look.

Hi,

I found the connector thanks to you. I would also like to have a clean connection with a mating connector. Could you please provide the part ID and where you purchased. Also, did you ever find out what the original use was for the connector? I have a Cab and think it might be the connector to the rear defroster not used on cabs. The fuse box on right of engine bay is missing the defroster relay or fuse. I’m just curious is all.

The female version of that connector (like in my pics) is pretty common, but it's male mate is very hard to find. It is used on a number of older German fog light harnesses, which is how I found mine on ebay from a Volkswagen. You'll be able to tell its the right one by looking and then it will be a wired pigtail where you can just cut off the rest of the harness it was a part of and splice the remaining wire(s) to what you're connecting.

I believe that connector is somehow used for the Tiptronic transmission as my coupe with rear defroster also has it unused.
