Default clutch or what?

2011, 997 base with 48k miles, 2nd owner. Clutch pedal seems to be engaging higher up then what I'm used it and it was always kinda like that when I got it 4 years ago but seems a tad worse these days. I figured I'd be due for a clutch replacement at some point in time which I'll do myself so not overly concerned. Have done a brake flush in the last year or two and would assume that means my clutch fluid is as fresh as that. It's like if I'm on a slight hill and I want to accelerate from a stop it feels like no matter how far I raise my foot that things aren't fully engaged till I'm all the way off but there's no slipping or anything like that .. no juddering or shaking or hopping like a glazed flywheel.

Don't anticipate need a heavy duty clutch or anything so any recommendation on what to do and what to plan for in terms of repair in a year or two or when I get bored. Would prefer to start shopping for parts ahead of time though. I searched briefly but most people are looking for upgrades and I think sticking to stock or something similar to stock is sufficient. Thanks.

As these clutches wear and are about at replacement, they get stiffer. Any sensation of that?

Stick with the OEM clutch. It will handle 475 HP so no need to "upgrade" to one that's grabby and less smooth.

Nope, doesn't feel stiffer. Just trying to figure out if it's the clutch, something else or just a very high engagement point.

Guess the best description would be that it's vague with a wide engagement point. Not on/off like my other cars.

When my clutch went, it wasnt a total wear issue. Parts of the clutch? had broken. Lots of clutch surface left. Some posts around on the quality issue.
Felt like it was slipping slightly - but wouldnt slip during the slip test. Guess vague might describe it. Not stiffer.
Pressure plate was fine.
You'll need one eventually. Good luck.

Thanks. Not overly concerned. Just something I'll tackle in 2-3 years I guess. Any good DIY articles? I have a lift, stands and decent tools. If it's just one of those pita time consuming but methodical repairs that don't require 'skill' then I'll be fine.

It's not slipping now for sure but it's also not exactly confidence inspiring with an aggressive start.

Clutch replacement here https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...-i-did-it.html

Lots of good DIY's and indexed summary in the DIY section at the top of the 997 section.
